I guess you would have to ask Tony at 5dimes for a clarification but...

I assume it is the 6 BCS conferences (SEC, ACC, Big East, Big 12, Big 10, Pac 12)

So you guys point to three mid-major versus mid-major match-ups, but what about all the mid-major/major conference matchups? UNLV/Colorado, Notre Dame/Xavier, SMC/Purdue, SDSU/NCState, Temple/Cal/USF, Alabama/Creighton, Gonzaga/WVU, KState/Southern Miss, Vandy/Harvard, thats 9 out of 32(not counting play-in games), and that doesn't count all the midmajor/majors for teams with top 3-4 seeds there are also another 3 matchups are major conference/major conference.

So now we've got 12 out of 32 games that are mid-major/major and major/major on the 5 line or worse. If you count mid-major/major including seed lines 1-3 the number becomes, 28 out of 32 non-play in game matchups between either major conference teams and other major conference teams and major conference teams and mid-majors.

So basically people in this thread think its some great conspiracy that there are 4 games between mid-major schools, Witchita/VCU, Memphis/SLU, NM/LBSU, and Murray State/Colorado State? Nevermind the fact that two of those mid-majors are 12 seeds and another is an 11.

So to summarize, there are 3 matchups that are major conference/major conference, and 4 matchups that are mid-major/mid-major, the rest are major conference/mid-major, yet those mid-majors really get screwed having to play each other all the time.

The mid majors facing power conference teams are jokes. Temple and SDSU are decent but SDSU is poorly coached and Temple is still banged up

3 of the 12 seeds were mid-majors. 3 of the 5 seeds were mid-majors. Difficult to match up power conference against mid-major with these teams.
