While I certainly agree that melo and amare are the strengths of the team, moving Lin to the second team would mean starting baron at PG. And while baron is good in spurts his age and body won't hold up for long stretches. By placing the distributing duties and tempo setting responsibilities on line, melo is free to concentrate on just scoring and playing one on one defense which are his strengths. Having baron as a 2nd team PG gives the nyk a good advantage over other teams during the late first and early second quarters. Lin needs to develop more of a rapport with amare or dantoni needs to tell amare how to move without the ball

They need a PG more like Rondo. A guy who can defend (Lin can't), control the ball (lin can't), rebound, and facilitate (Lin can at times).
