    Hard not to take Duke at home, teams like NC that dont play well enough defense, they arnt going to magically play consistent defense tomorrow, Duke will be fired up even more tomorrow to show the last time wasnt a fluke, because they are at home, and to show they can beat NC by and even wider margin. I want that spread to keep moving towards NC to give me more points on the Dukies.

    These are the defensive categories that UNC is better than Duke in this year . . .

    - Scoring Defense
    - Steals
    - FG % Defense: ACC: UNC #2 - Duke #10
    - Blocked Shots: ACC: UNC #1 - Duke #7
    - Rebounding Margin: UNC +11.1 - Duke +3.5 (Counting total rebounding, but they're also better when you break it out to off/def rebounding percentage).

    Good post. Trying to weigh Duke home court advantage into any fair line is tough, Cameron indoor is one of the toughest home courts in basketball, especially when looking at first half lines. Duke and their free throw shooting is what really bothers me when looking at these games, I don't have numbers for any Duke team since the early 1990s that shoots as poorly at the line as this years Blue Devil squad. Curry is the only one who seems to be the typical duke player at the line.

    How so? Same conference, so similar in conference schedule. UNC went to Kentucky. Michigan State on neutral. Wisconsin and Texas at home. Duke played Michigan State neutral, Got raped at Ohio State, Beat Kansas, And played Washington neutral. Even if you rate Dukes better because OSU/Kanas is better than Kentucky/Wisconsin, you really think that made such a huge difference in those stats? Also forgot UNLV for UNC.

    I have a Duke ticket (+2) based purely on math. The situational angle with Carolina folding in the 2H of their last meeting has me a bit confused.

    Home court advantage is meaningless in a place like this, do you know how close these 2 schools are? There will be plenty of UNC fans there. UNC gave that last game away and Rivers hit a lucky 3 to win it. And to do all that they had to hit all those 3's which is not easy to do. UNC will also do a much better job defending 3's this time knowing thats why Duke beat them. Should be a close game but UNC finishes the whole game this time and wins. Spread is -2 but I always take the ML in a case like this, makes no sense to me to take the spread -102 vs. -125, the juice is always worth it when its this close.

    Home court might matter less in alot of colleges now because they are building bigger venues and the students are not as close to the court like when the Dean dome was built for UNC and they left Carmichael. This is not the case with Cameron indoor stadium, the students are literally right there on the court and its a small venue. Kids camp out in tents in "krzyzewskivilles" to get seats, if there are any carolina fans there they will be a very small presence. Home court is a huge advantage in Duke games.

    First of All I am a ND Irish fan and also love the Blue Devils.........I would think that NC Tar Heels bounce back and win this but I also thought that Pitt would kill NDame earlier this year and that North Carolina would of beat up Duke earlier this year so with everybody likeing the Tar Heels I would say take Duke at Cameron Indoor and atleast you will feel good early in the game with the fans on your side and who knows we could all be wrong again like many times before.......BUT I will be rooting for the home team........
