Nice comeback win for the Buccos. Shouldn't have come to that, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Need Morton to continue his solid performing tomorrow. .500 one time!

You just had to jinx it.

That's alright, it's just scripted for Polanco to save the day again.

    Not this time.

The comeback kids poured ice in your shorts on Father's Day.

I was at the game. Marlins were completely lifeless for 8 innings.

    Polanco is scary good.

Pirates need to add an arm if they are gonna stick around in the WC hunt. Think the offense is going to be adequate with all the pieces in place now, but the rotation has been shit between bad pitching and injuries. Think it's more likely they add a bullpen piece though.

I'd like to see the Pirates take a shot at Hammel or Arrieta from the cubs or even Wood

I like Hammel. Popular thinking is that Theo will deal him early to set up a Samardzija sweepstakes.

What do we think about the Grilli for Frieri swap? Seems classic change of scenery and hope your guy turns it around. Obvious win for whomever gets their guy to turn it around, Bucs get younger so I guess not a bad idea. Melancon seems comfortable as closer right now any how. Remember some guys hated that trade a few seasons ago. I thought Melancon was a steal. Frieri setting up for now, but could be closer of the future is he finds himself. Think they had to try something. Their pen was scuffling.

Bucs playing great ball right now...massive difference filling that Polanco hole makes. Pitching has also stepped up nicely. Loved Grilli but it was a good trade for us getting similar production last year at about 10 years younger..hopefully Searage will help Frieri get his form back

Maybe some solid footing, two games above .500. Cole back in the rotation. Hopefully will improve. Volquez proving to be a worthwhile cheap investment. Supposedly they are players for Hammel, I think they need that to happen. Even if Liriano returns and gets better, their rotation is a lot of duct tape right now ... hoping guys like Cumpton and Worley will hold.

I like this Pittsburgh team I think if they could get a couple pick ups before the trading deadline they can compete in the playoffs

Cole hurt again possibly ... ick. Great start tonight but left with lat soreness. Hopefully not serious. Really need his arm in that rotation.

Doesn't sound like the Bucs are going to be involved in the Hammel chase. Actually saw a story about them maybe looking at McCarthy from the D-Backs. His #s this year are ugly, but he's a good innings eater. If he's cheap, might be an okay investment as all I think they are looking for is back-end help for the rotation. Could benefit from a change of scenery also and his contract is up at the end of the year so they wouldn't take on money. Basically need to not give up much of anything for him. Would think the D-backs would take about anything as he seems unlikely perhaps to be resigned after two pretty ick years in Zona.

So much for trading for McCarthy. He's a Yankee. Guess now we wait and see if the lunacy of trading for a guy who didn't want to be on your team presumably when he took more money to go to Philly ... is going to happen. AJ Burnett rumors have been heavy since the start of the month. Obviously would not mind it, but at the same time giving up players to acquire someone you could have had in free agency is sheisty.

Only one game out of the Wildcard spots and just 4.5 behind Milwaukee. Pretty amazing run with the rag tag pitching staff they have. Offense has really given them a boost during this hot stretch.

Just a poor manager's play there. You had two more lefties coming up in the inning with Carpenter & Adams. Made little sense to take him out. You put in a shittier lefty. Maybe there was an injury?

Interesting trade rumors about the Nice maybe looking at Ian Kennedy. Also weirder about a Marte trade to Seattle.Seems mostly from a Seattle perspective though and nothing about him actually being trade bait.

Shit while they're at it, why not Tyson Ross? Under-rated. In a pitcher's park, he's pretty damn good.

Man I would love them to go Big Balls & get Lester, but that's a pipe dream & not really the way they are set to operate, but Damn. NL Central is there to take right now .... Guessing more mid-level moves might be likely. Byrd keeps coming back up. Bastardo too. They could use a little pen help for shiz
