    Black Bookmakers

They are the toughest sons of a bitches you will ever meet if you owe them money
They use extreme pressure tactics and intimidation
    They pay ok
Lines generic, they accept lottery bets also
    More located in Cities

Don't fool with these guys unless your highly experienced in the local scene

JJ, not sure about this one... If you don't pay a bookmaker in Cote St Luc your days are numbered.

jj, not all are like that. I treated it like a real business. Never stiffed a winner and right from the start someone tried to skate on a big tab. He paid and an example was set. Never had a problem after that getting paid on Tues. Operation got too big so I had 4 different books going to keep the numbers straight. The beauty was nobody knew they were all mine for years until some gangster wannabes from LA area came to town and started shaking down other guys for their businesses. When they approached my people they went back to LA in worse condition than they arrived. Business.

The problem with doing book business with Mexicans is the likelihood of them being involved deep in drugs and guns and you end up as part of an investigation you otherwise wouldn't have been in.

Yup, to an extent. Gotta come clean to a point to get key gaming license. Once I cleared background questions up, nothing mattered anymore.

Back in New Orleans there were a couple black bookies that worked right out of their houses in the rough neighborhoods. You would walk in,(would usually be some type of security at the front door) look at the lines that they had scribbled on a chalkboard and place your bets. You would pay up front and they would give you a hand written ticket that you would bring back to cash if you won. No ticket, no cash. I bet at these 2 establishments for about 5 yrs and never had a problem though I heard there were some issues here and there.

As long as you pay on time jj you will have no problem with an old blood. Once in, always in. Tell him you know Pete's cousin and you will be straight. If he doesn't know Pete then he's not a NY/NJ blood, period.

Looks tough and is tough are 2 different things. Can't blame him for not wanting slow pays. Bad for business. Try mentioning the name Pete and see what kind of reaction you get. If he is legit, you may get credit. Any old blood is going to pay respect to him.

I remember the good old times at both TDs. $5 lap dances. We ran through pretty much every girl that worked there. Actually was offered chance to buy the East club by Tony before I left Tucson but he didn't own the land and there was a clause in lease that allowed land owner to shut it down if Tony and Dana ever sold it.

Are Vivace and King Fisher restaurants still open there? Miss my carne seca at El Charro.

Tds east and west were good times. I'm back easy now. We were there when things were booming in the 90s
