Lin makes the minimum contract possible

Lin is making $762,195 this season, which is the league minimum for a player in his second year. When Lin's contract is up at the end of the season, you can be sure numerous teams will be competing to sign the young point guard.

762k is the lowest possible? Geeez those guys warming the bench make 700k plus? Yikes

Most bench warmers get a lot more. Some over $5million...

Those bench warmers have guaranteed contracts. Lin did not til recently. He will get a lot more money next year. He better too, for the amount of global revenue that he's brought into the Knick owner's pocket.

with only 14-15 people per roster the NBA is the hardest sport to Become a Pro in so 700K is fair.

He'll be a restricted FA. Knicks will be able to keep him.

700k is pennies compared to what he's brought to the organization.

Even if he blows the rest of this season you keep him. Just look at the support he has from the asian community. Dollar, dollar bills, yo.

He should be under the "arenas rule" meaning he can't make more than the league average salary next year. He will be a restricted free agent, meaning the knicks can match or beat any offer (up to the league avg #) and keep him.

NBA is very high paying compared to other professional sports. As far as the 4 major sports, it as follows:
    1. Baseball
    2. Basketball
    3. Football
    4. Hockey

Consider that most years NBA teams have 41 home games to make the money and only 11-12 guys to pay. NFL has 8 home games and 56 guys to pay. Baseball 81 home games 25 to pay.

This is a basic breakdown but when you think about it, makes sense comparitively that NBA minimums are so high.

Lol well what would you expect? I mean the guy has started 6 games and hadnt really done ANYTHING in the NBA prior. He should be thankful he is still in the NBA. And like others said he will get plenty of endorsements and a better contract making more money when his is up but right now his salary is fair

I think that the NBA should lengthen games to 60 minutes so that Jeremy Lin can average 10 turnovers a game. watched him for the first time tonight, dude is fkn garbage. 8 TOs in the 1H. he's historic all right.

Lin should join the Harlem Globetrotters. He could kick ass and take names playing with a good team like that.

    Nah, he'd only need 40 minutes to average 10 TO's a game.
