    Duke @ North Carolina (-6.5) Discussion

    Battle of Tobacco Road tomorrow night. Tar Heels are a 6.5 fave after opening at -7.

    Duke has been shaky of late. Based on that, most will probably like UNC tomorrow. Early thoughts for me are that the Blue Devils cover and may win outright. Haven't seen the Heels play too much this year though so I need to do some research on this one. Duke's size down low is going to make things tough for UNC.

    Would really like to get some opinions going in here. Hopefully by tip we can fill this thread up with some knowledge. Looking forward to this game

    Carolina blew Duke out last year in Carolina. Much better Duke team last season. Carolina rolls in this one Duke is young but just not that great of a team. Carolina when focused is one of the if not top team in the nation. Guarantee they will be fired up for this game. .

Duke has been overrated all year and UNC may actually be a tad underrated right now considering they are legitimately one of the three best teams in the country. Remember what happened to a young Duke team at Ohio State? This could potentially be deja vu with UNC being the best team Duke has faced since then.

    UNC should be able to cover. Duke is overrated. This UNC team is the best team they have played all year in my opinion. Ohio State being a close second. And we all know what Duke did at Ohio St earlier in the year. Expect UNC to completely shut down the Plumlees inside with Henson and Zeller. Im also counting on the length of UNCs guards to really bother the shooting of Curry and Dawkins. As long as those are kept in check, UNC should be able to cover the -6. BOL to everyone on UNC.

    Duke's lost twice at home already this year. No good Duke team has ever done that. Carolina can crush anyone if they're hitting 3's. I'd air caution to the wind if you're thinking about taking Duke

    I wouldn't look to the Ohio St game as a measuring stick for this one as Ohio St actually prides themselves on defense. The key in this game will be Duke's defense: Can anyone keep Marshall from dribble penetration? If you stop Marshall's penetration, can anyone stay with Barnes? Can you contain both Henson and Zeller? My initial thinking to all of the above is no. Duke has been killed off the bounce all year (and most of the last 10 years) and I don't see that ending tonight.

    My initial lean was UNC to cover as UNC is the better team at almost every position. But the line is going the other way right now which leads me to believe that Duke is the play. Personally, I never bet this game as I just watch. The key will be Duke's defense. They are at the bottom in the ACC, but they came out in the 2nd half of the Miami game and played a more traditional Duke defense that has been lacking much of this season.

    Its hard to bet against Duke after a loss, but even harder to bet against the better team at home.

    We have the same thought process on this game.

    Carolina will be a big play for me. Everything UNC excels at, Duke struggles with. The only thing that might keep this game within ten is if UNC doesn't do a good job of running Duke off the 3 point line.

    The loss to Miami was the best thing that could happen if you are a Duke backer. I think 6 or 6.5 is a good price to grab them and the ML is tempting.

    I haven't been sold on UNC this year or last year. They are a team that relies heavily on getting easy baskets on the fast break.

    Some of you really don't watch much basketball? Carolina is by far the better team beat up on Duke last season by 14 and it was a much much better Duke team. This is the same Carolina team and will roll Duke by double digits. Carolina if they are focused is the best team in college basketball.

    Stranger things have happened in Rivalry games but on paper Carolina is a hell of a lot more than 6 points better than Duke.

    If Duke is hitting 3s they can hang, if not they get blown out.
