Huge Dilemma for Tomorrow....Need Advise Please

My NY Giants just won the Super Bowl and tomorrow is the parade in downtown Manhattan Canyon of Heroes.

I really want to go but have no more sick days....

Only been working this job for about 6 months and already used up my two sick days already. I don't want to get fired but really really want to go.

    What should I do?

Go to work like the rest of America. People would love to have your job, I am sure you're easily replaceable as well. Watch it on TV like the rest of the world.

    Quit like a boss! lol

I'm also contemplating either driving there or taking the train, but I remember the last Yankees parade, and how many people were in the public transportation and just in the city in general. Those who got the tickets to see them in the City Hall ceremony are the lucky ones. Almost makes me not want to go tomorrow because I don't have the golden ticket.

I can take the 7 to Queensboro Plaza to either R, F, or N or to A,1,2,3 on 42nd Street Times Square.

Not sure where is the best spot to go to so I can get a good view of the floats. And what time should I be there....9AM?

I'm probably going to go around that time, but don't expect to get a good seat since people are going to be camping way earlier than that. I'm also driving to the city around 4am but don't want to sleep in my car until then, as I always prefer to go with friends. The parade starts at 11am, so try to get there earlier than that just to secure a decent spot.

I don't know what to do?!? I was living in California when the Giants won it back in 2007 so I didn't get a chance to go.

I don't want to miss it this time.

I was in Israel at my cousin's wedding, just to wake up one day in his house and check the computer to see the Giants had a SB parade the previous day. You can imagine how happy I was. This time, I'm not missing anything!

Should I just call my boss and ask him if I can go tomorrow morning? It's not like I have a ton of work to do or anything. I literally just sit at my computer and desk for 3 hours a day just checking stocks and browsing the internet anyways.

Super Bowl championships don't come that easy.

Job is boring but I like it. Plus it plays the bills. Believe me if I hated my job I would not think twice. I would just go and tell my supervisor to suck it.

Well then go to work man.....Maybe you can catch a little bit of it if you talk to your boss......Most fans of teams dont even get to experience a superbowl for decades and you've seen 2 in the last 4 years, dont cry about a parade bro

When I was a kid and the Yankees won the World Series in 1996 me and my friend cut junior high school to go to the parade. I am not even a Yankees fan but will never forget it. We had the most fun of our lives. I rememebr us going into a McDonald's stealing three rolls of toilet paper from the Mens bathroom and hiding it on our back packs. Then when the float came by we were chuckin it across the float to the other side street. I nailed Jorge Posada right on the side of the head too.

Now one of my true teams actually wins it I am thinking I will enjoy it 50x more and it will be even more memorable.

You're going to risk a job that pay's the bills? A job that you actually like for a parade. It's very rare to be content in what you're doing for a living.

The next day, whether you still have the job or not, you'll be sorry. You said it was a 3 hour job? Grin and bare it and go to your job. Do you think the Giants players would risk their jobs for you. They make a hell of a lot more money than anyone here does

    What are you 12? It's a parade.

Besides Emily has information that Borat is conspiring with Jackie Chan to attack the parade.

First thank you all for your opinions.

Secondly, Giants rule. They do mean a lot to me in my life. I grew up watching them as a youngster.

Third of all do the guys that think I am crazy for wanting to skip work for a parade even like parades? Are you guys real real sports fans or just casual watchers?

I don't understand this post at all. My job doesn't require me to do something heroic that brings joy and happiness to millions world wide. So why would I expect the Giants players to come take a day off from work to watch me if all I am doing is IT work?
