When luck and destiny are on your side .... you are THE NEW YORK GIANTS.

It all goes back to that Cowboys comeback game in Dallas, does it not? They lose that game and none of this happens. There were so many crucial plays in that game... if they don't get it, they lose the game... and Coughlin is driving a golf cart in some retirement home in Florida.

But let's continue to the playoffs, shall we?

GREEN BAY: Game is basically dead even going into half-time.... Packers put their heads in the sand, allow that big run for the big gain, then Manning lofts a hail mary to put the Gmen up big at the half. That changed the history of that game and the Pack were forever in catchup mode. Also that wideopen pass to, was it Jennings..... he drops it... and that sealed the game.

49ERS: The ass clown fumbles once (which put the Giants in the game)... but did it again in OT to give the game to the Giants. W/o one of those fumbles... they likely don't make it. W/o either fumble, they definitely don't make it.

PATRIOTS: So many plays, but if Wax Welker catches that one pass... it would've been curtains for the Giants. And everything went the Giants way... two huge fumbles... and OH, LOOKIE HERE, they roll into the paws of two Giants players.

When luck and destiny are on your side... you can't be beaten. You could've played that game 50 different ways on Super Bowl Sunday and at the end of the day... the invisible hand of destiny was going to make Gomer Pile Manning a Super Bowl champ again.... a la that bogus catch to David Tyree four years ago.

    The New York Lucks.

I agree a lot of things how to go the giants way for them to win it this year and 2007...this team reminds me of a NBA team...a lot of talent all year long but come playoff time they play to win...they beat teams in the playoffs and the superbowl in which I feel were better and some way better teams...just not the day they lined up against the giants...

The NY Giants were probably the luckiest team ever to get to the Superbowl and win.

The Packers committing so many turnovers in the 1st round was outrageous.

Then Kyle Williams two gift fumbles, or the 49ers win easily.

If Welker caught that wide open pass, then it's also a done deal.

Compared to MLB STL this year, NYG path to the title is walk in the park.

let's not forget that if the 49ers didn't pull out that miraculous win against the Saints, the Giants weren't going to walk out of the superdome with a win.

Giant were 9-7 Boys 8-8 so no, Giants did have some luck but still were the best team in the league on paper.

Wouldn't it be some sh1t had Bradshaw quick TD cost them.

That was a very possibility, because if Brady would had threw the pass in front of Dieon Branch in that final drive, Branch would of possibly got to the 30 yard line of the Giants. With 40 plus seconds and a time out to work with.

...perfect example of threads I was expecting to see posted on good old SBR

you forgot to mention the Pats having 2 bye weeks in the playoffs (Denver counts as a bye) and then the Ravens dropping a game winning TD and then missing the short kick to go to OT... basically handed a trip to the SB

Um, the Giants completely and utterly destroyed the Packers. They got screwed with bad calls. The game is football, executing a throw and catch is part of the game. To say the Giants got lucky because Rodgers missed a throw is mindless. The Giants were clearly fortunate in many instances. Which I have no problem with, because you are not winning without good fortune. However, don't bring up the Packers because the Giants owned them on that particular day, bottom line!!!!!

Talk about luck, last year when the Packers only made the playoffs because the refs made a bad call when they ruled Calvin Johnson let go of the ball to early in week 1, negating a Lions win. That call, put the Giants out of the playoffs and the Packers in. Grow up man. Most of life is about luck, if your unlucky and born in a third world country, your out of luck.
