He could still take the Cardinals the following week.

Yeah we're getting a lot of perception value with Seattle. Yes, they should have lost today. But everyone is acting like they're not that good and Minnesota is the better team or something. This game was an anomaly. There have only EVER been two games in the history of football that had harsher weather conditions. Somehow we're still buying low with Seattle, and obviously selling high with Carolina. I'll take the +3 when it gets there, as well as the ml. I've got the more experienced and, in my opinion, better team getting points.

The fact that so many people think Seattle is "the better team" makes me feel better and better about Carolina.

There is no doubt Carolina is the better team. But Seattle has the experience on their side. Cam really hasn't proven himself as a winner in this league yet. We will find out a lot about Cam next week.

No doubt? There is zero doubt? None at all?
Well Vegas clearly has doubt, as they opened the line with Seattle as a half a point better than Carolina. They also opened a line begging for Carolina money, otherwise it would have opened at -3
I also have doubt. Well actually, I wouldn't call it doubt. I'm firmly on the other side. I think Seattle has the better quarterback and the better defense, and I know for damn sure they've got the better coach.
Meanwhile the Panthers are giving me value because of their lofty and misleading 15-1 record. In my opinion, they've only played two good teams all year. One being Seattle and the other Green Bay. Both of those were wins, but certainly nothing convincing. The Seattle game was a come from behind td with under a minute left and the Packers win was a game where they just barely held on to a large lead. I'm not sold. They had a number of games that they very easily could have lost this season.
@ New Orleans
vs New Orleans
@ Seattle
vs Green Bay
vs Indianapolis
@ Giants
Had they lost even two of those, which is not at all inconceivable, they'd be the two seed and more importantly they'd be much less talked about because they didn't almost go 16-0. Seattle meanwhile is muuuuch better than their record indicates. Plus, they're used to the pressure. Carolina is not. Expect the pressure to get to the Panthers, keeping in mind that this is the first time they're "supposed" to win a playoff game. Seattle takes care of business, 27-16.

Panthers have been to the playoffs 3 years in a row and lost a very similar game to SF in 2013 divisional round. They have the playoff experience. it will be closer than 11 points.

So you criticize Carolina for "winning" a bunch of games but you don't even mention the fact that Seattle flat out lost to the Rams TWICE this season? The Rams are worse than all of the teams listed above. Also, I could say Seattle should have lost to Detroit...another team that is worse than all the teams you listed.
You're living off Seattle being really good the last two years. This Seattle team is good but it's just not the same team.
Newton has turned into a really good NFL good. Guys typically don't start flourishing until they've had a few years under their belt and you're seeing it now.Carolina has a great defense. Great QB. Great Running game. They're at home and they will win imo
The fun part is one of us will be wrong and have to eat crow after the game. GL.
The Cardinals are really the team that you think Seattle is. They might be a play in the NFC title game.
Ok maybe not total weak sauce but when against teams of a similar ilk ie steelers, cards, panthers they've been exposed...
Zona exposed everyone.
Steelers exposed broncos d as well.
Panthers have been raking all season.
Don't act smart. Sea allowed 9 points on the road.

Not that you're worth replying to, but this is absurd. I'm not a Seahawks fan. They're not my team. No idea where you got that idea. I also didn't bet a dollar on them this week, as documented in my thread. In fact, it's the only game I didn't bet this weekend. Panthers are unquestionably better than Seattle? Unquestionably better means there is no room for debate. They are not unquestionably better. The two teams are very, very closely matched, regardless of what happens this weekend.
The real kicker though, Isis cuckolds? I think the Seahawks stand a good chance to beat the Panthers this weekend and that makes me an Islamic terrorist whose wife openly sleeps with other men? Dude, I'm not even married. Even if I was, this seems like a bit of a stretch.
Lastly, if this is a comparison of our cognitive capabilities, I suggest you run and hide somewhere. You are so far out of your league, to the point where you think the opposite is true.

305 - Seattle Seahawks
306 - Carolina Panthers
Market Avg. Open
+2.5 111
-2.5 -123 Current
+2.5 107
-2.5 -118
Like I said, majority will be on Carolina. Squares love getting the "better" team at less than a FG. I'd expect lots will eat the juice on the ML at -140, which is very do-able for most people. I don't like to look much into lines anymore, but IMO this is a Seahawks line. Carolina is as healthy as you can get for a playoff game and can't even be favored by a FG at home against a team that will likely start a 3rd string RB.

Those numbers mean nothing KRIT lets be real. Can't just take that at face value and accept it as being accurate. Besides, the public doesn't bet this early.
Also, it doesn't take into account moneyline bets.

The thing with looking at betting numbers and piecharts is very misleading. Books have zero obligation to release what they are holding. It is done as a courtesy and from past experience of being someone who could see a major casino's action I can tell you the numbers we see online are not accurate at all. Vegas papers have an annual oddsmaker handicapping contest and entries are filled by different writers but credited to head oddsmaker. Numbers posted online are just a small sample a $10/hr desk clerk relays out to services.
You guys give oddsmakers way too much credit. Many of them are degenerate gamblers living paycheck to paycheck. Sportsbooks are still just an amenity to the casino. If they generated significant revenue, the casinos would not turn them over to 3rd parties like Will Hill and CG. They are there to draw traffic to real money makers like slots, tables, clubs and restaurants.
I think the Panthers are being underrated with a 2.5/3 line but it is the best number to draw 2 way action. At the number it should be IMO(4.5), the action would be all Seattle. People like Seattle's overall edge in playoff experience, the Russell Wilson factor and Stewart's status being tbd. Should be a physical matchup and if Panthers play to form, I like them to advance.

I agree that all those public money sites spew bs numbers, but can't ignore the fact that Carolina isn't even favored by a FG at Pinny. When is the last time a 1 seed wasn't favored by a FG over a wild card team. -2.5 most times is a sucker bet when the home team has a better record than the road team.

You're taking what I said out of context. It was a response to someone's post that "there is no doubt Carolina is the better team". That's ridiculous. There is plenty of doubt.
This wasn't a praise post of Seattle or their performance within their specific schedule this season. In fact, I think they severely underperformed this season. This was simply to point out that Carolina is, in my opinion, overvalued.
I know how good Arizona is. I think Seattle is right there with them, with Carolina a not so distant third. I think this is a bad spot for the Panthers and I expect I'll take Seattle here unless I dig up compelling enough reasons to stay away.
I've also taken futures on the Super Bowl matchup being any combo of Seattle, Arizona, Denver, and New England so admittedly, I have to back that up haha.
I can say strictly from the competitive sports fan perspective, this is the most excited I've been for a football game this season.

I don't think you can call a 15 n 1 record lofty or misleading. Carolina is home and they are a very good team. As to Vegas they are usually vorrect...but they also had Seattle minus 5 vs ninny and ninny should of won. Carolina can win this game by 7 or vice versa.

Anyone can win any game by seven or more. It's the nfl. Any of these teams can absolutely beat the hell out of any other team in any game. I just think there's a lot of value with Seattle getting three. I agree about Carolina. They're very good. But 15-1 gives people the perception that they're almost unbeatable. This adds line value to the other side. What would this line be if the Panthers were 12-4?
