OP: Dan Marino played in a Super Bowl (and lost)

correct answer: Orenthal James Simpson (a tad better than Barry Sanders)
    Barry Sanders
    Dick Butkus
    Dan Fouts

Dude: Doug Williams won a Super Bowl in 1988, scoring 35 points in the 2nd quarter against the Broncos. Lot's of guy's that seem knowledgable regarding betting but if you're a sports fan, you don't make a mistake like this.

    Easily Barry Sanders.

Current Players, it would be Champ Bailey, since Baily is a guaranteed 1st ballot hall of famer.

    Eric Dickerson

    Dan Fouts

    Steve Largent

    Ladanian Thomlinson

My pick would be Steve Largent- people fail to realize how good this guy was before Rice came in. He revolutionized the position.

I was thinking the same thing. The only reason I didn't retort is that I thought he was maybe making some type of joke that I didn't understand.

Its ironic that Sanders keeps coming up, the guy frigging quit. That makes him a loser IMO. Had he kept playing he might have possibly made one. Since he quit after signing a contract extension that makes him a moot point if you ask me.

Since he probably quit because he thought Detroit might trade him to a more obvious contender like Green Bay Or miami makes it even worse. In the end he got the karma he deserved. he got sued and lost and had to pay back all the money he got plus interest.

Had he not been greedy and thought he could put one over on the Lions he could have just let his deal run out and moved on his own, but he thought he was going to outsmart everyone. People forget he was worried about money right from the start too. He held out his rookie year and wasnt signed until right before the first game.

So him not making a Superbowl was basically his own fault.

OJ had a better team around him and a much stronger line...look at his first few seasons and how well he did with a poor team around him.

Sanders was by far the better athlete and hands down beats OJ.

That said, OJ deserved a SB more...sucked playing in the 70's where Pitt and Dallas dominated, along with some great raiders teams along the way.

Best player to never make it, hmm..will think about it, but these 2 seem to be the consensus top 2 RB's. QB, its Cunningham, Fouts, Moon to me...Cunningham by a nose really. Moon was great and lost a couple years to the CFL, but played forever in domes on good teams with solid lines, extending his career too.

Nah Mr. KLC: lot's of young guys here that are great bettors but aren't "up to snuff" on sports history. I'm 40 years old and basically since the age of 5, I pretty much remember everything and I study sports history about players and events that happened before I was alive

Sanders would either break off a run of 80 yards or be stopped behind the line. O.J. Simpson was a better overall consistent back when the rules favored the defense. This isn't about O.J. the person, this is about O.J. the player and he was great.

Largent had Jim Zorn and Dave Krieg throwing to him. Even though he was a great player, I wouldn't put him in the class of being "the best". Eric Dickerson was great. That's a good choice. Remember when he broke off a run and Darrell Green chased him down? Tomlinson is in consideration and I don't agree with others about Randall Cunningham. He was good but not great.

would hardly say sanders quit.. just cause he walked away while he can still walk and enjoy life doesnt make him a quitter.

didnt warren moon lose a 35-3 lead in a playoff game?

short answer who alot of people arent listing only saw one person say is:

deacon jones, the man invented the sack.
