#107This to me has always been a cop-out answer when somebody doesn't want something to happen in this country. Those problems are never getting solved. So we have to move on. Can't just insert that argument in there anymore. Every country has problems of similar magnitude. You can't have every country say "Hold up hold up, you're going to have to wait until we're completely happy with our domestic situation before you come in." They'll all be dead before that happens.
That's actually a pretty good question. I guess if they get one chance to make a move, it may as well be to a flourishing country with no sandstorms.
Again, why aren't the other middle eastern countries taking these Syrians in? It would be like Canadians fleeing to countries in Asia instead of the USA
I'm fine with taking in some after extensive background checks so long as every other country in the world does the same....Why is it up to us, Germany, France, Sweden and a handful of others to do everything?Comment -

#110We should not help the Syrian refugees, we need to help ourselves first as Americans..... We should send the refugees back and put a gun in their hand and say fight don't flee ya cowards... Fight for your home land and don't bring your cowardly asses to our fine Country and rape our system..
Once these refugees get settled in the States, they won't pay their fair share of taxes, they will be ruthless and take advantage in business with other good Americans, they won't like Americans very much period, they will be loud and aggressive just like all the other Middle Easterners that come here to make a buck, their eyes light up at the opportunity to make money thru any illegal means possible in many cases..
I live in LA and see this first hand alot.. Yes I'm stereotyping.. Hate doing business with Middle Easterners period.. I hate doing business even with people from Israel... Ruthless business people and their word means nothing..Last edited by JIBBBY; 11-20-15, 01:00 PM.Comment -

#111Who here has Muslim friends not co-workers or classmates I'm talking friends you hang out with on a daily basis? I bet like 2 people know some Americanized Arabs like paco but Were talking the real deal Muslims they don't operate out of their communities. So why bring them in? They won't become Americans they won't embrace the culture. Then there's the trust factor making a big mistake bringing them in.LA area Arabs are assholes period some of the Americanized kids are cool but their parents are usually A grade assholes.

#113My dad was just telling me a story from a toy train show that he did in York, Pa last month. He said they played the Star Spangled Banner before the show started and 3 Muslim men who had tables set up and were selling items all turned their back on a everyone else until the song was over.
Now if they don't have any respect for this country, then why are they here?Last edited by Kermit; 11-20-15, 01:23 PM.Comment -

#115Sad you have to pick between compassion and security. I'm not going to fault anyone for not wanting them over here, but most of it is political posturing and fear. The ignorance I've read on social media is truly awe inspiringComment -

#117Why aren't they going to Egypt or Turkey?? or countries that are closer to them?
It's not like the US can put them up and give them everything they need. It's a bit treasoness, considering we at war in their country; so they the ones that do come over are just going to be in camps for a few years.Comment -

#119We need to make sure ofukkup invites some to live in his house whether it be Palm Springs or DC.
The fukker has invited plenty of the whiny asses to the White House so surely he must be comfortable enough to have them in his house.
After all didn't he grow up as a gay closet muslim without a US Birth Certificate and College Transcript?Comment -

#121Western Muslims are nothing like Muslims that have deep faith and live in the Middle-East.
American Muslims reminds me of the majority of Catholics: They believe certain parts of the bible, and do the public posturing (ie Lent, Ramadan), but neither know or follow the scriptures to it's fullest.Comment -

#122I think we can all agree they don't fit in to our culture on both ends and would be better fits all around for other countries in the Middle East
Why aren't these other countries stepping up and taking them in?
If they don't give a Fukk about their own people then why should the western nations?
Yes we all feel bad about their circumstances but blame ISISComment -

#128You know West Africa has been experiencing atrocities just as bad as in the middle east for years and years, maybe even worse.. UN doesn't come to their rescue like they are doing in the middle east... How about Burma as well as that place is a mess for human genocide? There are refugees wanting to come from those Countries too..
Some how West Africa and places like Somalia and Burma are over looked.. I really don't see the difference when offering aid to Syrian refugees when other Countries are in just as desperate shape? We just don't here about the crap that goes on in those places like we do in the middle east I guess.. We here about Pirating and kidnapping for ransom stuff that's it..
Read the book "A Long way Gone" Boy Soldier true story. This book was a National best seller for a while and it will open your eyes to the crap that goes on in West Africa.. It's a great read... One of my favorite books.. I'm a white guy too..
What makes Syria and their people any better then the other war ravaged Countries people is what I'm getting at.. Some how they continue to work it out on their own....Last edited by JIBBBY; 11-20-15, 07:32 PM.Comment -

This is based on a true story and the man is still alive and well in Pennsylvania. He still helps the refugee children in Somalia.

Just a thought -
The more I think about this stuff the more I think the poor uneducated over populated Countries need to have holy wars and genocide just to keep the population control in check.. It's like the very poor deeply religious people all have ten kids to a family and don't think twice about pending future danger ahead. Starvation not a concern either like in Ethiopia as they hope one of the ten kids make something happen big in their life to save the entire family... Mexico no different..
Flip side the Rich people in developed cities with solid educations have 1 or 2 kids these days and make sure those kids get a good eduction and are well taken care of in most cases...
This world is a crazy place we live in fellas but i do think things like this and holy wars happen for a reason even though it's all horrible....Last edited by JIBBBY; 11-20-15, 08:51 PM.Comment -

#131I work in the legislative field now...Cliffs notes it's a little more complicated than the US decided on letting them in. We're kinda obligated to as a world power and being the part of the UN. It also doesn't matter if all 50 states reject refugees, the federal government (obama) can put them where he wants. The states know this good and damn well so that's why it's posturing.Comment -

#134I hate to say it, but if we can't make a "safe space" militarily for these guys in their own country, then we need to just butt out. There comes a time where self preservation has to take precedence over their problems. We are members of a club, whether we were born or married into it, or are former immigrants. How many times have we been told when social change (gay marriage, abortion, etc.) takes place that times are changing, and we just need to accept it? Well, times are changing again, and we as a nation, have to adjust.
Our president says that some of us are scared of 3 year old orphans, and widows. Well, I've seen video after video of young children being indoctrinated. I've seen women with suicide belts on. Yeah, our government says that everyone will be properly vetted. Let me go to the last sentence, and 2 of the first words I used, "our government". You trust these political hacks who cater to special interests, lose trillions of dollars, and continually ruin everything they touch, to handle this properly? It's already becoming political about whether to accept them or not. Once accepted, people will start making the vetting process political, and then lower the standards. Once these people are in here, anything they do that can be potentially harmful to the general public will then be politicized for the sake of their religion. It will just go on and on, until BOOM! Then everyone will look back, and try to find out the reason it happened, and probably blame it on racism, no jobs, climate change, etc.
We will never completely know who is coming in here. We want to take these people away from a government of tyranny, but we want to trust that same government to give us correct information about these people? Like I said before, how do we know if that young orphan has not already be indoctrinated, and is just waiting for the day he grows up, and backs his cause? How do we 100% know whether that poor widow lost her husband due to a situation dealing with a suicide belt, and she is just preparing to show her love for him, and the cause, right in the heart of America?
There is a war going on right now. We are right in the middle of it, and millions of people have no idea they are involved. They soon very well may know all about it if we let all of these people into our borders. Times are changing indeed.Comment -
