    Treeless USA...

Damn this sucks... Plant a tree, help the environment.

This is a pretty sad image for such a beautiful picture.

At 8000 x 8000 pixels, this “Blue Marble” image of the earth is NASA’s highest resolution image to date. It was composed from several pictures taken from Suomi NPP, the newest earth-observing satellite.

That could be true, but still, the image is pretty clear. And if you look down to south america you can see the difference. All I'm trying to do is spark a little self awareness amongst all posters to just plant a tree and help out a bit... And this isn't a shot at the US as I grew up there and have many fond memories and much love for it, it's more of a general concept that we should all adopt...

The Hi-res image is quite cool.

Most of the US is wasteland, nothing new in that.

yeah man and to add onto that- when you go to a lot of places they have fruit growing all so many trees of all different kinds in abundance- when/if you plant a tree- plant one that does something even cooler than just processing carbon dioxide.

Any tree is good, as long as we can lower carbon dioxide emissions and give a future to all the kids in the world...

I don't see any trees, or any people from that far out. Doesn't mean there aren't any.

I love trees and everything we can make from them when we cut them down.

    Hey Dax-

Let me fill you in, pal....this board ain't you & Pete's personal Coachella Hippie Festival.

As far as trees go......My bulldozers have plowed those sons-of-bitches up by the thousands! Some trees aren't worth a damn. Any cedars or elms we come across are history. They're good for nothing water suckers. Oaks and Hickorys we try to save. If a tree is in the way of someone getting to build a new home or shopping center......then that fukk has got to go!

On this same note.....I've also planted thousands of good trees that will provide shade and foliage long after I'm gone. Its a process, pal.

Now as far as you providing tips for us Americans, how about we reach a compromise?

As soon as you stop having to read by kerosene lamps and defecating in a hole that you & Diego dug in the yard of your hut......you can start offering up advice to my fellow countrymen.

& Opie aside from all the BS, e-tough, denigrating jibber jabber that you write to get some attention, I know you're just pissed off because you're getting close to that age... But don't worry dude, I support Senior Citizens such as yourself.

Dude I'm no Hippie, I don't protest or tie my self to trees, but I do try and do my part. I recycle, I don't litter and I try to plant a tree every once in a while to give back for all the CD that I put in to this place...

It's just a matter of being conscious of where we live and helping the newcomers enjoy some of the cool shit we have in the world.

according to this, a lot of that "barren land" is farmland, either fields or pastures. The rest is probably mountains, and deserts, and then cities. there are plenty of trees.
