After much research and consternation it was determined that anything involving betpoints and the wording
    "High Roller"
would have a starting buy in of 125 betpoints
Please review both betpoints High Roller football contest 2010 and 2011 threads

Good Luck everyone in the Tournament

No. Only the tourneys listed in the 2012 official schedule count.

We can't guarantee much as only a handful would even pony up the fee. It would feel more like the WSOP HORSE championship than a Poker Stars event.

Then some people would need backers/stakers just like the real WSOP.

I like the idea of bigger buyin tournies...maybe have a few with no guarantee so that you can get a ballpark idea of how many will join?

    Lou I have a question.

If it is a buyin and everyone buying in has to pay the same amount (which is only right by the way) why is it that 1-3 get regular points payout and the rest have to meet rollover?

Don't get me wrong, we all want more tournaments and are appreciative but that system of payouts doesn't make sense. Actually any tournament that any member pays to enter shouldn't be held accountable to a rollover even if the points are given for merely signing in everyday.

Before anyone starts in on "it's just points", it's not about the points, it's about the principle.

40 betpoints is not high roller.. in real money poker site high roller mean 100 or above

I completely understand the rollover guys. I mean we will be lucky to even get 40 players. That amount only cover 1st place

If what is guaranteed as payouts is not met with buyin's then I can see the rollover.

For what it's worth SBR can do whatever they want and don't really have to answer to my questions or anyone elses. We can choose to participate or not which I generally do anyways time permitted regardless of rollovers or not. I was just wondering but PlayersOnly does make a good point.

How about a 250 (or 500?) point tournament that runs concurrent with this tournament with either a reasonable guarantee or maybe just drop the rake? (Hell, get John and Pricky to play in a rake free tournament and you have an quasi-overlay)

Higher buyins would still be fun even if it turned out playing like a sit and go...

Part of the popularity (for both those dreaming of playing and those who can pay the buyin) of bigger buyin tourneys is the sats... While it might take some programming (or maybe not since WSEX, that uses the same software, had ticket based tournaments with satellites ) I would bet an infrequent (like maybe once every two weeks or each month) larger buy-in tournament with a buy-in of 500-1000 points would be fairly popular...

Was going to ask this also, GUM. I'm hoping we're talking DEEP STACK action for this one! I can never do much with 1800 in starting chips.

I like it. Really what would be cooler is just letting posters start their own tournaments, but there are fraud concerns and the like. Maybe eventually there will be a players tourney tab and there would need to be a minimum X entries to minimize abuse or collusion.
