Newt or Romney or even Santorum would be better than Obama. Not sure why anybody would want him back in office.

All that matters is that OBAMA loses. Gingrich has big ideas and lots of baggage, Romney is indecisive and too nice, Paul is a babbling genius that has no chance, and Santorium is unknown. Romney will get destroyed by Obama in a debate based on his record of flip flopping and especially the mandated state healthcare that was instituted in Mass. The only real option that we have is Gingrich. I will take Gingrich over Obama any day.

We may not know what is best for America, but we likely have a more valid, or at very least useful, opinion on what is best for the world.

Secondary concern or not, that should be something every American takes into some consideration.

Look, I'm no fan of Obama but let's face facts: these Republican "candidates" are a fvcking joke. None of them can or will beat Obama in a general election. Obama will run with Hillary as his VP this time around, easily get re-elected, then some cat like Christie will take on Hillary in 2016.

Just speaking the truth, boys. It is what it is. Obama's not losing to fvcking Newt or Flippin' Mitt.

I think gas prices are going to be the undoing of Obama. There is speculation that we will be looking $5/gallon gas prices in the face this summer. The combination of this along with the Keystone situation could seal his fate no matter who the Republican nominee is.

Also, don't underestimate Newt. Its going to take an aggressive candidate to overcome the Obama machine. Mitt does not fit that category. Newt's been in the public limelight for 20 years now. You're not going to find too many more skeletons in his closet, and he is more apt to play this Washington game better than anyone else the Republicans have left to throw out there.

As far as the moral issue goes, since Eisenhower, it seems like the better presidents have been the ones that have been divorced or had infidelity problems (Kennedy, Reagan, Clinton). The ones that have been, or seem to have been true to their spouses (Nixon, Ford, Carter, Bush 41, Bush 43, Obama), are the ones that have been garbage. If you'll look, only Bush 43 ended up serving two full terms out of those 6, and he might not have made it if the Democrats had thrown someone out there better than Kerry. America has proven that the moral issue is not a factor if the so-called faithful leader is running the country down the toilet.

Ask yourself this: who votes for Newt?

    Blacks?

    Mexicans?

    Women?

    Young people?

He is unelectable. Period. Unless white males age 40 and up are going to be at the polls at a 60% clip vs. everyone else, he has zero chance.

I don't know how old you are, but this is the same thing that was going on with Reagan. Nobody would back his conservative policies, and he was supposedly unelectable. I don't care who you put out there, the blacks vote will never go Republican anyway. Young people that voted for Obama in 2008 are not going to be as enthusiastic to vote for Obama now because they don't have those jobs they were promised 4 years ago. People are going to be voting with their pocketbooks, and that will swing a few midwestern states the other way, that Obama captured in 2008. Obama will probably lose Indiana, Wisconsin, and I would not be shocked with Ohio also.

Look, I'm no fan of Reagan, but did you just compare Reagan's ability to get elected before the '80 campaign to Newt fvcking Gingrich?

Romney has a better chance than any of these cats to beat Obama in a general election, and it's not even close. Their politics and policies mean very little when all is said and done. Sad but true. Popularity contest for the drones.

Who said that? Gingrich would tear Obama a new asshole in a debate, but that's irrelevant.

Again, think of who will be voting. Discard middle-aged to older white males and Newt wins no one over.

A moderate does not normally hold a better chance in a general election (Ford, Bush 41, Dole, McCain) from the Republican side. Bush 41 won in 1988 off Reagan's coattails. When he had a record as president, he was toast. The media was demonizing Reagan's policies, his divorce to Jane Wyman, saying that he was going to set women back 100 years, etc., and he still beat Carter easily. The reason he won was not just his positive campaign, but the fact that Carter had a record, and could only try to villainize his opponent. The American people saw right through this, and voted with their pocketbooks. I don't see why they wouldn't do it again.

I actually disagree with that. (I despise Obama and Newt.) Newt's signature debating style is to attack the moderator, insult the "mainstream media", and then speak in grandiose platitudes with frequent use of ambiguous adverbs like fundamentally. He comes off as a jerk and a know-it-all, and I think Obama would wipe the floor with him in a debate.

First off, SBR has been VERY good to me.
Secondly, if you're endorsing candidates, you're endangering yourselves of boycott.
Thirdly, this is the correct decision for the website.
This site generates a DICKLOAD of money. For everyone that isn't a millionaire, take heed on this endorsement. It has nothing to do with baby jesus or morals - it's about money. Gingrich's plans for the wealthy doesn't quite trump that of Huntsman, but meh, he's no one anyone cared to read policy of.

I'm not saying Obama is the man. Again, if you've read my thoughts on the current defense bill that makes the 'world' a battle zone and ANY American can be detained without Habeus Corpus makes him UNelectable, regardless of the bullshit regret he showed whilst signing it ninja-style on new years eve (because no one paid attention, but dipshits like me).

It's just, this crop of (R) candidates are as populist as a Margeret Cho stand up. It's shite.

We believe Newt's experience, leadership, knowledge, wisdom, faith and even humility to learn from his failures (personal and public) can return America to her glory days. And he is the best man left on the battlefield who is able to outwit, outplay and outlast Obama and his campaign machine. -Chuck Norris(God)
