    Maybe tennis isnt my thing

Ok.... Nabandian gets screwed on an over rule then they don't let him challenge and know for 10 minutes I am hearing the announcers talk about how bad a call it was and they have know clue as to why a challenging wasn't allowed...

They obviously don't realize it was because I bet that way... Now at match point when he should have been serving for the match... And.... He lost

I am screwed again and announcers talking about how tainted the match was... I am cursed beyond belief with tennis....

Living the Dream - this was a shithouse fluke. I've actually never seen an Ump act like that since Hawkeye was introduced (although it may have happened and I just don't know). Just try to think of it as witnessing a royal ass chapper and it's time to move on. Pisses me off beyond belief because between this and bloody rigged matches, it's like the sport is becoming the WWE a bit but you'll probably never see this again in your next 15-20yrs of betting tennis (let alone the Ref come out onto the court). This was just bad all around. History baby xo

Probably be available in about an hour or so. Cliff notes are:

It was 2 sets all, 8 games all with Isner serving break point down.

Isner served and it was called Out by the linesman
    The umpire overruled the linesman
    Nalbandian challenged the call.
Umpire said that he took too long to decide to challenge.
Tournament referee was called and backed up the umpire.

Hawkeye showed that the serve was out

The worst part for me is that watching it live I thought Isner was going through his service motion. Nope. He was going to challenge it as well and that's why he raised his arm. He assumed it'd be called out - AS IT SHOULD'VE OBV - until he saw Davey step forward.

    omfg this crap

Like I said in another thread, I read a year back about someone who went to college with him, and he's supposed to be a massive d1ck.. I just thought it was one of those b/s stories, but i've heard more about it.. and this confirms it, especially against such a well respected vet. What an absolute pr1ck.

The poor thing is that the ump was the guy who looked like Shaft and has the cool sounding voice. too bad if they ax him, I always thought before last night is was one of the better umps along with the Muhammad dude who gets all the big matches.

I have heard the same thing from at least two folks about Isner. I used to work at a hotel and drove a shuttle van and on two occasions I have talked to guests about tennis and his name has come up since he grew up close by in Greensboro..One time a person overheard him berating someone at a gym giving them the "Do you know who I am!!" line about something going wrong at the gym when he did not get what he wanted. Apparently his parents are dicks too and expect special services due to who their son is or some bull-crap.

this is what john mcenroe had to say:

"This is a total and absolute injustice he did to Nalbandian. The referee is an idiot and should be banned for life. Or at least take a year's suspension."

I've seen many players take awhile to decide to challenge... after talking to their coaches, asking the ump, checking the mark a few times. They were allowed to still challenge. Isner went to challenge first at the 0:08 second mark in that video because the ball was initially called out. Then it was overruled and Nalbandian didn't even hear it at first because the crowd was screaming. He asks Nouni what's going on, Nouni tells him he overruled, he checks the mark and challenges. Both players were going to challenge, two officials disagreed on whether the ball was in or not. Maybe time for Hawkeye to be used at that point??? Either way, Isner may still have won for all we know. But that stuff shouldn't happen at a Slam. Leave the dramatics to babies like Baghdatis.

No way I think, Nalby had like 3 chances before that one and set up the points perfectly and missed a couple of easy balls but that call completely changed the momentum it was absolutely horrible for Nalbandian. That call def changed the outcome of the match completely i think, just horrible to see in a grand slam for someone who doesn't have many good years left in Nalbandian
