Seems pretty fast to get a DNA test done. Only 1 man was spotted, where was the other? Was the other guy hiding in the woods, did they split up, is one of them injured or dead?
It's extremely fast. I knew a guy who was a forensic detective (I don't know what you actually call them) in Colorado. He liked the show CSI, but the one thing he always clowned on was how unrealistically fast they would run DNA tests from their "mobile" testing unit, and get it done in like an hour. Says it doesn't work that way ever.

The most recent report on Google news here...

          Two thoughts...

          1) Time.com is a fukking annoying place to try and read a simple article.

          2) LMFAO at the guy with the leaf blower. Who's he trying to find under the rail? Mighty Mouse?

Other guy pointing up at the sky!
It's like they posed for that picture.
"Hey we need a searching high and low picture for this new lead." "Frank, pretend like you're checking the tracks, Jim, point up at the trees and say something!"

How on god's green earth did they manage to get a DNA sample from a remote hunting cabin with no roads and then get it analyzed that fast?
They would need hair or bodily fluid right?
This is extremely suspicious to me.

TV Show already in the works

Johnson Production Group is planning to film a series chronicling the escape, manhunt, and hopefully the capture of Richard Matt and David Sweat. But, the catch is, they are more interested to telling the story from the vantage point of Joyce Mitchell.

The story from Mitchell's perspective will pique more interests than one told from that of the escapees. It would be the right story for the female crime thriller market. They could have the show on air in 5 months, and could easily adapt as the events continue to unfold.

Looks like the New York State prison escape saga is far from over. The entertainment company Johnson Production Group is planning to put the story from newspaper front pages to your television sets, TMZ reports.

The production company's name is Johnson, somehow makes it funnier.

I told Ralphie before that the story has every possible element of human interest you can imagine.
It could legitimately be anything from a Lifetime TV Movie to XXX Porn.

The "honor block" at the prison, a special section that had housed Matt, Sweat has been shut down after their escape and will now be turned into a regular cell block.

Being in the "honor block" gave inmates privileges such as going outside every day, having hot plates and refrigerators in their cells, and congregating for hours in a central gallery area each evening with fellow inmates. They wore civilian clothing, one of the escapees had a guitar in his cell.

What the hell is going on? This is supposed to be a maximum security prison, sounds like a fuggin' country club. Guys getting laid on the regular by the female prison staff. There are posters here at SBR that don't have it this good. If this is a maximum security prison in New York, what the hell is a minimum security prison like? Private chefs, keg partys and private masseuse complete with happy endings?

                      Unraelz!

Funny you should say that, the production company has done work in the past with Hulu and The Lifetime Network!

Right. It would also mean these two non-survivalists traveled 25 miles or so on foot after only a handful of hours headstart vs. a massive manhunt. Until one or both are apprehended, or we see photo evidence from a surveillance cam somewhere, they're still ghosts in the wind.

I personally don't think they are pulling leads from thin air but perhaps I should be more skeptical at times. If either of these guys were truly connected then I don't think the authorities would have squat to report other than it's just an ongoing investigation.

If these two are split up now then that could potientially buy a little more time for at least one of them.

The DNA tests that quickly seem suspicious to say the least but I think it's because they want that information in the media to continue to pressure these guys into making more mistakes.

No they haven't caught them yet but even misinformation does not bode well for them.....no news is good news for them.

I would not be surprised if YY is fitting them for a pair of argyle socks and a set of clubs as we speak.

US media reported that DNA evidence had been found, linking the two murderers to a hunting cabin, in the Mountain View, New York area, that had been broken into as little as 24 hours earlier.
Boots, bloody socks and toiletries were found, local newspaper the Press-Republican reported. Mountain View is around 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of the Clinton Correctional Facility.
If confirmed, the DNA-link would be strongest lead since the pair cut through their cell walls using power tools, and crawled their way through pipes to emerge from a manhole.
State police said Monday that a weekend search, 350 miles southwest of the prison, had been called off and that energies were once again focused closer to the prison.

On Saturday, a witness had seen two men fitting Matt and Sweat's descriptions walking along a railroad line in the town of Friendship, close to the New York-Pennsylvania state border.
Around 300 local, state and federal officers searched the area, but police said the area was clear and that roadblocks had been dismantled.
Police said residents in Dannemora, around the prison, should be on alert, and warned members of the public not to approach either man but instead call emergency services.

Not sure if it's a Federal law or state by state, but I think it's against the law for prisoners to profit from the crimes they have committed, by selling movie, book rights, etc.

The man who went to check on his cabin on Saturday found a jug of water and a jar of peanut butter on the table and saw a man run out the back door. He did not get a good look at the man.

Apparently the forensic evidence they found in the cabin came from a used pair of prison issued underwear

So is it easier to break out or stay free. Considering their history if they didn't already have elaborate plans and help to stay free on the outside it was gonna be close to impossible unless they started killing, train was smart, but somebody saw them and reported it, cant let that happen. Now DNA, gig is up.

The man who went to check on his cabin on Saturday found a jug of water and a jar of peanut butter on the table and saw a man run out the back door. He did not get a good look at the man.

Apparently the forensic evidence they found in the cabin came from a used pair of prison issued underwear
explains a lot maybe these guys aren't prepared as I though they could be If they are still wearing prison issued anything. sloppy ...

Apparently, they have not got a hold of cash. yet. Does this add to a sense of desperation and make them more dangerous???
