People do this and it can go both ways. If after 10 years, there's still some 1/1's that haven't been found then the box would be worth more but if you can find online sales of all the 1/1's and account for them, then the box would be worth the same or perhaps less. You'll also find that the years with good rookie classes don't last 10 years usually because people want bust them open and cash in on the value so in strong rookie classes, could be good to keep a sealed box.

#389I bought the new Prism box, hoping to find that Zion 1/1 auto rookie worth $10k! Also picked up a few baseball boxes from 2019 (Alonso, Vlad, Acuna, etc.)
Dropped almost $900 so hoping for something decentComment -

I don't open with gloves and I have my own opening method that I like better than the top cut (it's a small tup cut and a controlled rip along the seam). I do have sleeves and protectors at the ready just in case.
If you get a big card, you safe keep it right away and then find the best way to get it graded.
Start putting a fund aside so we can go together on a case (best value, maximum "hits").Comment -

#395Rudy, 1/1 means there is only one of those cards in the whole world.
You should check your pencil collection for 1/1 pencils. You might have a winning lotto ticket in that pencil drawer and not even know it.Comment -

#403Just realized I snagged a very rare card out of my $100cad Topps Stadium club hobby box. I pulled a Blake Snell Chrome "Autograph SuperFractor" 1/1 which is obviously hard to price because there's only one of them in the world and I have it. It's too bad it wasn't a rookie card or a better player but the same card from other players are selling on ebay for between $100usd and $650usd (from Rhys Hoskins to Hank Aaron) so I'll definitely be at the lower end but at least I made money on the box.
While writing this, I also realized I snagged a Fernando Tatis Jr. Autograph Rookie base card which I didn't think of much because it's not numbered but three listings on ebay closed at over $200.
I have the day off so I'm going to get my ebay account back up and running. I think I'd rather sell now than wait and see if these guys become HOFers.
I'm going to have to go through my other cards more closely. I wasn't sure I hit anything but now it seems like I had a pretty hot box (first time in awhile).Comment -

#405Nah, I don't think there's much value but it is possible to pull some decent cards. If you can pull a "Franchise Duo", they go for between $20 and $50 but other than that, the best is a couple bucks.
If you're going anyways, buy them for sure but I don't frequent Tims much.Comment -

#406I have 5 Duo cards and 7 clear-cuts. I managed to pull the Tim Horton short print card from my fifth pack.
I tried to sell it along with the Duo's and didn't get offered more than $200 so, I decided to buy 40 more packs and try to complete the set. There's a card trading night tonight at the Tim Hortons behind my house, I will hopefully have a complete set by then.
master sets were selling for $700 $800 on eBay.ca but the prices are slowly going down now, as stores are running out of boxes and prices are levelling out.
I would really like to pull a Redemption card before they sell out.Comment -

#412Also, put up about 10 ebay auctions and have $210 worth of bids locked in already. All the auctions are 7 days long so I expect that to balloon a bit. Hoping for $500 from the 10 best cards that I pulled. Will try to scrounge up another couple hundred as I go through them more.Comment -

#416Huh? Fleet baseball bro, jordon rookie. Wasn’t it 86 fleer? It was a long time ago but pretty sure I got like 20k for what I had of it. (Something like that).,,
Tops cards were trash in 80s-90s from what I remember, 89 had Barry Sanders but tops wasn’t what you wanted. Pro set maybe? I dunno had stripes on boarder and he was in his college uni: that was most desirable football card I believe I had.Comment -

#417For sure sell bro. I haven’t messed w cards since I was a kid but back then when I sold them all the desirable of the players who ended up being HOFers I don’t think ever got to be worth more than when they were hot. Unless things have changed them doing everything possible will never make the card more than now.,Comment -

#419If they're brand new cards, people don't worry about them not being graded but anything older than 10 years, it's probably a good bet and will get you more value. I have seen some Zion and other sought after cards get graded to boost their value. The only downside is if the grading comes back lower than you wanted but usually worth the risk.Comment -

#420I sold all mine way before they got to the HOF and I know I went back and checked years ago to see if I made a mistake but was pleasantly surprised none had hardly went up shit from then!! I was at like the peak of them tho, afterwords it started becoming all about those inserts ya’ll talking bout but those were just becoming a thing when I was leaving the scene., I know the bottom fell out for some time after I sold but has since bounced back some so maybe hard to say.Comment
