i just saw this docudrama the other day. was interesting how the filmmaker did it, interviewing players involved and interspersing clips of the game. i wasnt alive in 1968, but was the strategy of the game seriously that bad? harvard literally ran a variation of the same play over and over in the 2nd half. yale for some unknown reason went for 2 when they got to 20 points to take a 22-0 lead. yale also called a timeout with the clock running against harvard late and gave them time to compose themselves for lack of a better word. i counted at least 7 fumbles between 2 teams who were undefeated in the last game of the season in what appeared to be cold weather, but no rain or snow. i know players are bigger and faster now, so the size of the players was no surprise, but it felt like i was watching a game in the stone ages tactically. i just thought the game was more advanced then it was by the late 60s.
