sammy winder. vance johnson. mark jackson. ricky nattiel. steve sewell. these jokers were on the teams he carried to super bowl before td. his poise under pressure. and when elway was finally given the talent in rod smith and td, he won the super bowl. thats why hes not on par with jim kelly. kelly had reed, lofton, thurm,tons of offensive talent and as much as it hurts he choked every time. anyone who has watched highlights of john elway and looks at football objectively yet says hes not in top 5-10 qbs of all time is just not making a serious argument. cannon rifle accurate arm, great mobility, and unbelievable talent in the clutch. when your d gives up 42 and 55 points in sbs, what can he do? he led 10-0 against skins and at half against giants. terry bradshaw couldnt hold his jock.

Elways has 14 playoff wins, second only to Montana. It doesn't really make sense to compare QBs stats across different eras with different rules. So, it's just silly to compare Elway to anyone playing in 2011. Maybe we can compare Elway to Favre because they actually faced each other in the Super Bowl and we know how that one ended. During their career, Elway and Marino was the big comparison but despite the stats Marino never got the rings. Montana always had the stats on Elway, but he also had the great teams.
