There is a lot of concern on the Raiders squad as to who will be playing next week. Free safety Michael Huff is most likely out. McFadden could be back but with how long he has been sitting, I don't think he will be in game shape by next week. If you return early from injury, that could hurt, more than help your team.
Jacoby Ford and Hayword Bay are both banged up, but I expect at least 1 of those guys to play.
Suh is back for the lions and this is going to be a nightmare matchup for Palmer with Fairly now in the rotation with Avril and VanDenBosh. With SD and Greenbay after this, I think this is by far the most significant game of the season for the Lions. If they win this game they have a great shot to make the playoffs.
Also what leads me to believe the lions will win this game is the matchup with Calvin Johnson. I don't see anyone on oakland being able to guard this guy. Their best corner is Routte, who is probably the most penalized cornerback in the NFL. I can see him getting his hands all over Calvin because he won't be able to physically stay with this guy, causing lots of penalties.
Michael Bush is a good runner but he has no explosiveness on the edges where the lions can be exposed. Good luck sending Bush right down the middle against a play in Suh who had to sit back and watch the lions play the last two games. The guy is going to come to play on Sunday, and its going to be a nightmare for Palmer, trust me.
You have to throw the ball to beat the lions, plain and simple. We saw what happened with Tebow and co when Lions came to town. Tebow scored 1 touchdown in the garbage minutes, and had one of the worst games of his career just like I predicted in that thread.
I don't believe Palmer can throw the ball under pressure. I have no faith in the guy.
The Raiders were down 31-0 to the packers in the first 20 minutes of the game. Pitiful. Their linebacking core is atrocious. I mean, Ryan Grant busted a nut on this team.
I don't know who will be in for RB for Detroit, but with the way they run the gun almost every play it won't really matter. Kevin Smith would be a huge bonus if he can play. Delmas at the FS position would also be great.
The lions will be prepared and focused this week.
This is also the week that Lakerboy will lose his thread where he said Lions won't win more than 1 game after Dec 1st. He also said Lions won't beat the Raiders.
