So that 250K Parlay thread inspired me to give this a shot. As you can see in the screen shot, got a 6 team open parlay going.. I think 6 team is the max my local gives me. I'm not the greatest at math, but it seems like a slam dunk to make profit on this by simply hedging each individual game and taking the ML of the opposite side, no?

For the more mathematically inclined, what's the best way to hedge this going forward to maximize profit and ensure that I atleast break even? Right now I can get Fordam +290 (vs Sienna) and Rams +370

Maybe hedge when you get to the 6th play(even then who knows). Otherwise I wouldn't even think about it.

If you think those two plays (Fordham +290 and Rams +370) are good plays in their own right, you play them. Don't think about them in relation to the parlay.

Regardless of this you can't effectively hedge anyway unless the result of the CBB game is 'known' before the NFL game kicks off.

This is why your concept doesn't work bro. First the pay off for that parlay is if the other 4 teams were all -110 and not huge ML teams. So as I do see what u were trying to do if the payoff was $3000+ but its not. Was a good idea if that was the case bro but its not.

Go ahead and bet your 80 bucks on fordham at +290...That should cover your initial bet and guarantee you some profit.


Ok, then when that one wins, go ahead and put put 75 on the Rams to win, that will pay you out 280 which will cover your initial bet (200) and your hedge on the very first leg of your parlay.

Lookie now, you're at 155 dollars worth of hedging on your first fukkin night, because you think it's just that simple to guarantee yourself profit. If it were that easy, wouldn't everyone be doing it?


And why would you ask us (board full of losers) to help you figure out hedging on this parlay, when you tell us it's such a simple concept?

A 6 team parlay with an average of -350 plays for 200 bucks pays out 700...Don't know where you're getting 2-3K from.

Rather than try to break down how stupid your concept is in mathematical terms, let me explain it like you're a 5 year old. If there was a sure fire way to make money manipulating, hedging, or circumventing a parlay before it began, than everyone would be doing it, hence bookies wouldnt take parlays.

Where are you getting this payout anyway?

Normally with an open parlay it will only show payout for the team(s) you've selected so far, based on their ML's. So right now your parlay should be 200/119.66. And the payout will adjust as you add your plays.

Even if your book is assuming -110 for the last 4 open spots for now, then payout is 200/4046.
