    Houston / Over

Without blowouts against the Tulanes and UABs of the world, the Cougars face the same fate as Boise State has for years—the fear of dropping in the polls for not beating teams by 40 or 50 as opposed to 25 or 30 points.

thats my take as well. Houston has been averaging 63 points per game over the past 4 CUSA games. Tulane is averaging 15 over the past 4 CUSA games. Over/under right now sits at 74 points. Not much has to happen here for the under to hit.

coach, I snapped VT @ pick 'em immediately for 1u.
today, I plan to focus on the match up, and will decide
if my initial lean merits a larger play. good luck!

Houston will get that by themselves. If you insist on finding an under in this game (and I don't recommend one) perhaps Tulane team total will go under? Otherwise you got the best offense in college football playing the 107th best defense. They can name the score.

Ohio will cover the 6 1/2, I'm on that and Houston 20 1/2 in the first half.

Houston is a slow starter, Ive lost with them many times on the first half, but won the past 3 weeks on the 2nd half, they always pour it on 2nd half.

pointing to the under in the ga tech game...

Since Johnson took over at Georgia Tech in 2008, the Yellow Jackets are 21-6 when teams have one week of practice or less to prepare.

Compare that to a 5-8 record against FBS opponents that had more than a week to prepare. Making matters worse, Georgia Tech is 0-3 in bowl games under Johnson, having been outscored 80-24 in the three contests.

Throughout his tenure the Yellow Jackets have averaged 3.0 rushing touchdowns per game when facing a team with a week or less of preparation. That number drops more than half of a rushing touchdown (2.3) in games against teams with more time to prepare.

They score significantly fewer points when teams have the extra prep time, averaging 23.0 points per game in such contests, compared to 30.7 in all others.

This season, Georgia Tech has three games (NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech) in which its opponents will have more than one week to prepare for the Yellow Jackets. With Georgia Tech, Johnson is 3-4 against those three teams.

btw...espn article not my only reason for liking that under...lol. just interesting to read about the option o's against teams with time to get ready...and it kind of matters here. va tech one of the best run d's in the nation...held the last 3 acc opponents to 17 points or less...and more than a week to get ready for this option. spread making me worry with everyone on va tech side...but really like the under. my opinion...so if you go all in and lose your fault...lol.

Typically i would say shy away from Houston and the Over, because that's the square choice, but in this instance Houston really does need style points for the BCS. Keenum was quoted yesterday to saying, we plan on scoring every-time we touch the ball. Even if their up 3-4 touchdowns in the 4th, they wont be running the clock out....
    I'll just say that.

another 1u play on virginia tech: pick 'em @ -105 but I'm still working
on my initial lean, watching line movement, and conducting statistical analysis
while handicapping the copious situational angles. good luck, sir.

I lean to VT, their D is maturing and coach knows how to play the GT option.
GT played one good game, fortunately it was against Clemson, but Clemson was due for a loss. Before that, GT was very sloppy and not a vintage GT run game.
I cannot go by the one good game GT played at home against Clemson.
VT with a good D and can run and throw a bit, I think that GT will have trouble stopping them.
Lean to Vt at this point.
    Lean to Ohio.
Lean to Houston (in a DOME! They want national attention, break records, show the world, they will pour it on... 35 is a LOT, but lame duck coached lost to Memphis no home crowd Tulane is hopeless... I'd stay away from the over, it could be 50-7)
