Why is everyone so sure about Andrew Luck?

They act like hes a sure HOFer already, guy never played a down in the NFL , plays in the soft PAC-12 and they act like hes peyton Manning, ever heard of the word BUST

Have you seen some of the starting qb's in the nfl? Doesn't take much to outshine most of them.

I was thinking the same thing. They talk like he is a proven NFL veteran.

Just watching the guy play he looks like an NFL QB to me. He has the size, the arm and the intelligence. As with anything else nothing is a sure thing but he is as close as it gets IMO.

you guys obviously havent watched him very much if youre asking this question. its his skillset. deadly accurate, strong, smart, play-maker. that will do at any level.

Don't mean to hate. I just don't remember any college player ever being talked about like he is a ticket to a winning NFL team like this.

The reason he never played a down in the NFL is because he is still playing in college.

i'm not sold on him. obviously something is wrong with him if he turned down 20 million guaranteed to stay in college and study. i think he might be a bust.

there is no question though that Cam Newton is much better than Luck. Luck did the Panthers a huge favor by staying in college.

One word. Stanford. What they did to va tech in the bowl game on both sides of the ball and still being in the natl champion picture the next season? Hook my wagon to him yesterday. I'll take my chance with him over any college qbs and half the ones in the NFL taking snaps now.

I think you are confusing sure vs "sure thing." Let's ask this question instead. Who would you rather draft #1 overall? He seems to have the least risk and given he plays the most important and irreplacable position on the field most GM's would select him first. They are most "sure" about him. Could he bust? Sure. As we all know, there are no sure things...

plus he can check-down like nobodys business. very tough to keep him from converting a third down.

That's what people said about all the previous BUSTS too.

You should see the scouting reports on JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf. It's laughable.

What are you talking about? There were plenty of questions regarding the ability of Russell and Leaf.

Can you point out any flaws in Luck's game???

If the Carolina Panthers had the option to trade Newton for Luck right now, they would do it in a heartbeat. Pull your head out of your ass.

Cause he is smart as hell, doesn't freakout under pressure, tall, can run/move in the pocket, and can throw the ball with pinpoint accuracy. He ain't no Ryan Leaf. This isn't rocket science.

What is your point? The biggest bust in NFL history played in the SEC. The best QB in the NFL played in the Pac 10. You fail.

    This

Also his father was an NFL QB (and current D1 AD) so the kid's been around the game at a high level his whole life. Not all kids around the game make it big but none of those kids have this kind of size and talent.

GM's polled, majority said they would take Leaf over Manning.

There's always questions about everything if you want to make questions.

Luck has beat ZERO elite teams in his life. Playing against bunch of Scrubs in the PAC 10 where they play no D.

Put him on the Browns, he won't do shit there for ten years.

Has nothing to do with the SEC or the pac 10 from 5 years ago , every team in the PAC 12 THIS YEARRRR has a soft defense
