1. Don't be scared to have a crack. Often you don't have to do much (see point 3);
2. Lower your standards - lets face it, a 10 isn't just going to jump into bed with you. There is no fool proof method for 10s, other than hard work;
3. Be prepared to wait until towards the very end of the night. Do not get too drunk to stand up at this point, as it is the easiest time to pick up quickly, get laid and get out of her place (always hers. Do not invite her back. This causes issues) within a few hours. There will be girls around who are drunk, lonely and looking for some 'comfort' and male attention. As already indicated, often the quality now can be lacking. This is where it is very easy and it doesn't really matter what you say, as long as you aren't horrendously ugly, say a few nice things and have good body language - start touching her etc. Things will go very quickly from there.
Other than the above - get some game.

Front my experience, it's all about confidence. Not a fool proof method to get laid right away, but definitely a fool proof method to pick up women. You can't really fake it though, you either got it or you don't. It is possible to not be a confident person and then develop confidence, but it itsn't possible to fake confidence. You'll probably just make yourself look awkward or arrogant. Believe in yourself and don't be afraid to fail. That's how i've had the most luck anyway.
