I'm not opposed to any of these ideas, rankings, ratings, etc., for poker, but it's annoying that everything is retroactive. Everyone should start at the same rating as of the start date the system is implemented and it should go from there. I'd think you would get the players truest rating if you knew they were being rated vs. not. Of course the formula has not been fully revealed but it does say it is considering past play so...
The ratings are far from accurate and the formula is very messed up.
Had qq and raised 4 bb to 4 limpers. One of them calls with a10. flop is 3-10-j. I make a c bet and he goes all in. River card is an ace and he wins. After this hand my rating dropped from 1855 to 1841. Make your conclusions.
Still sounds like SBR's way of generating some drama and more action at the ring tables. They think they will have players that will want to improve their rankings and try to play more to raise them. There has been debate about how to rank the players, by points or by # of cashes, well now they've thrown these new rankings into the mix.
these ratings dont mean anything so no need to bitch about them. i am 1524 and 22nd on the top 250 . and then you got tight assed mofos that sit at the ring tables for hours and only play AK AA KK QQ that will automatically have a higher ranking because then obviously they will win a greater percentage of pots which is how these ratings are generated.
