Yes, at least that's how I won the one time I played. No matter what I had I only held cards which would help me get the royal. If they didn't give me a 10,j,q,k or ace I wouldn't hold anything.

There is a correct way to play, in essence perfect play, I don't know it 100% but have a general idea. What you want to look for is the difference between what a 1 credit full house pays to a 1 credit flush, those numbers are normally 6/5, 7/5 on shitty machines. 9/6 is the payout table you want, with a rewards card you make money per hand. And then it's basically never toss a pair, never toss a winner like a pair of aces with three to a royal, never go for two card flush draws or straights.

check out videopoker.com, you can sign up for free, they have the same machines the casinos have and have tutorials and will let you know what the proper play is.

Not neccessarily. With a good strategy you can meet playthrough requirements with it with great odds, in case this is allowed in bonus terms. So for cashable bonuses, it can be a good choice when you won a lot of money, but there is still a lot to wager. Playing videopoker offers the opportunity to loose only a small portion of what you won until you meet the wagering requirements. If you want such strategies, do a search in google for videopoker strategies.

Secondly, you can also go for doubling up. I noticed that some casinos had video pokers that are quite loose on double ups, others have tighter machines. If you manage to find a loose machine, you can multiple your initial deposit many times. That can also be a strategy.

    1. Finding the best pay tables............most of us pros play nothing lower than 99.17% games(8/5 bonus poker) and above.

    2. Playing correct strategy each given hand, learned through practice on software, books, and cue cards.

    3. Playing good promos, hopefully combined with a good slot card.

    4. In many instances, casino mailers play a big role in rather a game is +ev or not, so it is key to find these.

    5. Have a good sized bankroll, and as mentioned above, a large penis.

A solid semi-pro or pro will profit at least $12,000($1,000 a month) a year JUST in mailers........a few reaching very high levels.

For example, currently recieving over $400 a month in freeplay and food from just ONE casino with very little play.

The key to video poker is to walk right by it and stick your money in an IGT slot machine and stop it short (ie, end the spin before it would end naturally).....

then walk over to the cashier and cash these types of tickets out.....

Nobody actually makes cash money they receive comps that let them end up net positive. The reason I stopped trying to grind video poker. I'd say the following is the best advice and according to the last one jj is fukin doomed.

Find the full-pay video poker machines and play perfect strategy. There used to be a few floating around the Palms, not sure if it's still the case.

I've lost 1,000's on it personally.
    Better off playing Keno
Keno you watch it bleed and maybe it will hit.

VP- you just bleed slower, and never hit

3 years in Vegas- I have never hit a Royal Flush
In Keno, hit for $1000 5 times, and I just started playing Keno for about 1 1/2 years ago.

VP, you have to pay attention and make decisions(interrupts conversation aat the bar)
Keno-insert your numbers, push button every 10 seconds, and continue converstaton with friends you are with.

Comps are easier when you play Keno
Bartenders have to check up on you when you play VP to see if you are playing enough

    Truth is-It all sucks
If you come to Vegas-stick to the sports-that's what you guys know best and stay away from parlays
If you want free drinks-sit in the racebook and bet your $1exacta and throw the ticket in front of your seat. Tip the cocktail waitress and she will return.

I know bartenders that have been here for as long as 20 years, that look for progressive Royal Flushs(at other bars) and they never hit.

I met a guy that was retired and moved out here, told me he hit 3 Royals in his first 3 months when he moved out here.
Retired guy still burns his wealth at that casino I went to.

One of my Co-workers hit a Royal, one in ten years.
None of my other friends have hit a Royal.
