    MLB fukked up tonight

There weather forecast wasn't accurate and they should never have let this game get underway. This is a huge issue for both teams when it comes to the starters. Now both teams will be in a totally different position and it completely changes the complexion of the series and anyone (myself included) who bet on either team on the series price. MLB needs to get there shit together. This was a bad decision.

pretty sure they dont factor 'ruining peoples wagers' into their decisions

but pretty moronic to let a playoff game start when there is bad weather coming

weather forecasts can be pretty accurate these days, there is no excuse

So who has the advantage now? I see how it poses a problem but I don't see how this gives either team a clear advantage. They will adjust.

I'm pretty sure Yankees pushed for the start knowing it will rain so they will knock Verlander out of the game. don't think this wasn't done intentionally.

you answered your own question.... TB a small market while NY is one of the biggest, its all about ratings to these folks, they could give two fks about if it makes any sense or not...just as long as it makes the most money

I agree, 100 percent. Just posted about this in the other thread. They had to seen this coming. I would rather them delay the game 20 minutes and be wrong (of course telling the starters ahead of time), then for this to happen. This Royally screws the Tigers, and their fans. They needed to win game 1 with Verlander. Now the odds are that much steeper without him.

Is this another of Selig's doings?

If it is or isn't, this guy needs to go. He has almost destroyed the game of baseball.

yanks started cause they went with the weather forecast thinking that it would be delayed for a bit and then they could get into the tigers bullpen.

I read this is usually the case, but during playoffs and last week of season it's up to the MLB.

    True?

Who did you take Lakerboy in the series? And how is it that bad, starting pitcher-wise?

Seems to me both teams are very similar when it comes to their starters......CC-Verlander are the aces, Nova-Fister 2 pretty good and solid #2's.......After that, a crapshoot (Scherzer maybe a little better than any other Yankee SP)

I have the Yankees series @ -150 and I'm pretty indifferent about what happened tonight.....teams just gotta adjust, shit happens

Detroit definitely has the edge in the Fister/Nova matchup. With that said, Fister does not have the best history against the Yanks over a small sample size.

The bullpen edge goes to the Yanks, so if they can knock Fister or any other Detroit starter out early, they should have no problem.

I think this series could give the Yanks some trouble. The Tigers have a comparable offense and have been one of those teams that never gives up. I remember a few weeks ago, they beat me for a 2x play when the White Sox were winning by 8 runs and the Tigers came back. They just don't quit.

I think the Yanks win the series when it comes down to it. However, I think the Tigers get one at the least and maybe two wins.
