I'm jealous. I nearly went broke playing $2 open parlays trying to get one to 25. Well not nearly broke but it started to add up after a while. So I admitted defeat and kicked the habit.

only do parlays for betpoints. big parlays are sucker bets. takes many people too long to learn this less.

I hit a large parlay years ago. Then started doing $500 10 team parlays. Big mistake. No chaulk too. Boy was I a f--ing idiot.

I'll never understand why these Vegas sportsbooks (or online for that matter) don't encourage more parlays.
You can't parlay UFC at a bunch of books. You can't parlay tennis at some books. They won't let you parlay across sports at some books. They won't put out huge ML favorites to parlay. They don't even pay true odds when you parlay off the board on anything more than a 3 teamer.

Some books limit players who want to lay huge chalk. Guy is betting $50,000 to win $10,000 and the book says no. Just seems so dumb. Seems like books would love to take -500 bets all day.

As stupid as parlays are in theory, most of the money I've won has been from big $50-$100 6 teamers.

I'm not arguing parlays are +EV btw. Just asking what seems like an obvious question to me. If they are such obvious losers, why do books try and discourage playing them by reducing odds in some situations?

they dont. if you win a lot of money they limit you. not if you are a successful parlayer. they limit/ban you for chasing steam and betting really sharply on soft lines as far as betting styles are concerned. but any method you use to make a lot- a book can show you the door for that.

sucker bet is 6-teamers, 15-teamers, 8-teamers, even 4 teamers mosta the time.

nobody is talkin about 2-teamers buddy.

i hit a +170000ish 13-teamer on bookmaker not even 2 years ago and you know what i did- made a bunch more 13,15-team parlays and lost (most if not all of) them. they're so hard to hit that the book knows they'll get it back.
