Would you take the 15-1 on Chris Christie getting the Republican nod?

I think he's running and he's by far the most electable candidate. Anyone disagree??

No, I would hit that really hard. I am being serious. I like him as well. Geez, I thought 15-1 for prez. It really is hit or miss but worth the chance.

Hes not running, if he was he would have announced by now. There is no way he gets in this late, the Republicans are stuck with who they have. I would bet he wins in 2016 though, yes I am basically assuming Obama is going to win his re-election, but its not that huge of an assumption if you look at who the Republicans top guy is.

if he runs he'll be 2-1 immediately some reports say he is strongly considering it

the filing deadline is still weeks away, and he is saying he is reconsidering it which i would take to mean he's leaning strongly to yes

he'll get a ton of billionaire backing, and the field is super weak

if he announces yes in the next few days he'll be 2-1, at most, almost immediately

based on what I've read yes I'd take 15-1

Yes book it now if you cam, if he runs, which i think he will, not only will he get the nomination, he will win pretty easily, if you can win the governorship in a democratic state like new jersey, the presidency will be easy compared to that.

Christie is trading at 4-1 to announce a run for the republican nomination and is 12-1 to get the nod.
if he announces yes in the next few days he'll be 2-1, at most, almost immediately
This 2-1 estimate is quite an accurate assessment of Christie's chances if he does announce his intention to seek the republican nomination.

    On the flip side:
yes I am basically assuming Obama is going to win his re-election, but its not that huge of an assumption if you look at who the Republicans top guy is.
Neverstoppers's assumption that Obama is going to easily win re-election is quite inaccurate as Obama is an underdog to get re-elected (Obama to win the election is trading around +120 at the present time).

    we hate him here

    he will definitely run

he is too fat to get the nomination though

USA would never vote for an out of shape fat candidate

Again. he will definitely put his hat in the ring. but will not get the nod IMO

This country has become incredible shallow in the last 20 years. His weight is, no pun intended, the elephant in the room.

Well we all should know by tomorrow as that is the deadline he gave himself to announce whether he'll run or not.

Cristie is going to be the white knight that saves the GOP's chances of seriously dethroning Obama in 2012

Fiscally conservative, social moderate. Vote this guy in!

I like the odds. If he does announce, he could very well become the favorite.

Taking a bet on a guy who hasn't even announced yet, isn't assured of having enough time to set up a proper campaign, and could keel over from a heart attack any day now?

Hard to imagine Republicans and the Tea Bag crazies getting behind a guy who:
    Supports civil unions
Wants a ban on assault rifles
Does not want to go after illegals

I'm completely for the first 2

Not entirely sure what his stance is on illegals, so I'll read up on it now.

He can't be any worse than half of the current candidates

Christie is definitely not running. He said he is unrepared to run, not qualified, and not ready to be president. He also asked what he has to do to convince people he is not running, "commit suicide"?

The media keeps the story alive even though its a non story.

Even if he were to announce today (and he may announce on Wednesday), too much time has passed. Remember Rick Perry? He was the "hot" item, but now he trails Romney. Cristie has not been subject to the harsh questioning and the attacks that the announced candidates have gone thru. Rick Perry found out the hard way. Christie would probably suffer the same fate. On top of all that, he would have to organize committees in many States, and does not have much time to do so. I would not take the 15-1.
