    How do bookies run live-betting?

Do they have an automatic system or do they really employ people to lower the rates every second?
I mean how Bet365 does it - do they employ a person for each and every single game?
This is a question I always asked myself but never asked in a forum.

obv it is some type of software that adjusts the lines based on the time and score of the game. 365 has some very intricate software. no other book has software like it.

There's real time software out there that calculates the situation of every game at any given time with data from the teams involved.

For instance if NYY and Seattle are tied 3-3 in the seventh, they might make the line NYY -160 to win based on who's due to hit for the M's the next two innings, weighed against who's pitching at the time, who's in the bullpen, trends from past games, etc. etc. etc.all updated in nano seconds, don't kid yourself, the software available out there is just that good, it's so evolved it's mind boggling.

    But how does it work?
Do they have a system connected to the scoreboard or something?

They just grab raw score data using language from score providers (Stats, Inc, Sportsnetwork, Euro score services) whether xml feeds, API..type stuff

Yes, books don't employ enough people for there to be employees watching 10 NBA games on a Wednesday night and adjusting lines every time-out. Has to be automated, humans may step in and adjust lines if it starts raining in a football game or a big name player is injured and ruled out of the rest of the match.
