Computer people get 50 points if u can help me with homework

    Heres the problem-

    1. Ip address and subnet mask
    192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0
I want you to create me at least 4 networks of 58 hosts.

I need it like this example right here.

    Example 1:
192.168.10.0 with a 255.255.255.0 address I want 4 networks for at least 12 hosts. This will make the mask 255.255.255.240 or a /28. The number of increment will be 16.
    <table class="MsoNormalTable" style="border-collapse: collapse; border: medium none;" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr style=""> <td style="width: 119.7pt; border: 1pt solid windowtext; padding: 0in 5.4pt;" valign="top" width="160"> Network Address

I think the first two lines would be

    192.168.10.0 192.168.10.1 192.168.10.60 192.168.10.61
    192.168.10.62 192.168.10.63 192.168.10.122 192.168.10.123

Pretty sure what I did was right but if you use wiki you can figure out the prefix and subnet part
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subnetw...network_prefix

    or use this

prob will cut all your work out

Hey OTP, in the example you gave isn't that one of the answers? Increments of 16 each time going down. Also, are the "first usable", "last usable" and "broadcast address" examples of hosts? Those are 12 right there if so. Fukk me, I should be doing my programming homework instead of this.

    Binary goes 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1
Since we need 58 hosts per network, we must use the 64 host option, where as in example we only needed 12 so could use 16 option. Start with 192.168.10.0 and go to 192.168.10.63 for the first 64 host spots and so on. To get the mask we know its 255.255.255 because its a class C identification and the 192 comes from adding the 128 and 64 which are the network part of mask. Then the /26 comes from the number of bits which is from the total binary code which is 11111111-1111111-1111111-11000000

The total bits is 255, It's broke down in the 128-64-32-16-8-4-2-1 phase. Since you need 58 hosts you have to use the 64 bit option since 58 obviously won't fit in 32 and 128 is larger than necessary. And I don't know what you mean for prefix? I didn't see anything about prefix in the example...
