Just watch the videos of the crowds...kids wearing communist group t-shirts....nothing new. They are just traveling bands of artists and under achievers who don't have a job to go to because you actually have to be somewhere on time routinely so they are mad at the people who work 100 hour weeks and are now enjoying the benefits.

    Hadn't even heard about this.

Interesting story about the news outlets didn't bother covering it until it got violent.

These guys have been planning it for awhile...scheduled to do the same in D.C. on 11 October.

Their website is posted on by 'various radicals' they call themselves. They state that they are trying to mimmic Egypt and other Arab nations in an uprise. The spokesmen asked for 20k or more people to bring 'live on wall st' for a few months by bringing things to set up beds and kitchens in order to disrupt workers. So basically, come piss and shitt on the streets and I would say bathe but, watching the videos doesn't look like many of them do that anyway.

Just because you're peaceful doesn't mean you are not in violation of the law...and when asked to leave by the police, you do so. March all you want, with proper permits of course, but then go home don't set up a tent and start playing the bongo drums and littering the financial district with feces and dirty clothes.

I highly doubt many of these guys/girls lost their life savings in any of the failed brokerages or were swindled into buying some of the leveraged tools that went south.....so it's nothing more than the decades long 'the man is keeping me down' group in a different year.

I haven't noticed any of these commies, freaks and traveling bands of artists you speak of in the videos here Itchy?

I do see a bunch of women corralled by about 8 police officers then maced though. You seem fine with that but not freedom of speech? Sure you aren't a commie spy of some sort?

pause the 1:24 mark and look at the kids shirt.

Just go to the organizers' website...Google occupy wall street.org and it pops up. Then simply notice who all is posting their as well as visit some of the communist party sites here in the U.S. and they are all involved one way or another. There are even posts bashing Michael Moore for coming out to support them 'because he's a rich guy living in a Mansion so he needs to go away'

The females being sprayed, arrested etc...go to some local NY news pages and watch the videos in the entirety....many sit down and setup stuff to camp with, asked to leave, they refuse...then the crowds gather and start filming and screaming Nazis...then on one a guy is being asked by a bullhorn to leave and he yells at the cop and turns his back, the officer grabs his arm to cuff him and the guy starts yelling inciting the masses and then the pepper spray comes out which is clearly correct considering you are 3 or 4 officers in the middle of a group of people surrounding you....standard policy.

are you listening to yourself? people should get a permit to protest nowadays? and you call the US a free country, sounds like a dictatorship! you have to obtain a permit to protest, from the people you are protesting against!!!

if people on this forum have not realized the economy is in the shitter, if people dont protest now when will they protest? when everything is fine and dandy? do you realize that banks played with peoples money and lost, and then made the people pay for it all? do you realize that politicians send the nations youth to die in some hell hole in the middle east so that their corporations can profit from the wars, and at the same time they tax the shit out of every penny you make, just so they are sure you are never going to have enough money to stop working for them?

and yet you think that the protesters are wrong? well I guess their plan is working, all the faithful sheep just lay in silence

I think you are seeking to focus on the very few negative things that you can find about this group Itchy. I saw the group of hippie looking types right at the end there, but the rest of that video is full of a lot of very ordinary looking people apparently acting in an organized and orderly way. And if you go back to the first video, a lot of them look like well dressed middle class office worker types.

I understand the Anonymous online crowd are professional anarchists and am sure their website looks like a kiddies gamer forum filled with a bunch of loons, and there are likely a whole bunch of professional protestors and other useless types there among that crowd too. But it looks like better than 90% are simply ordinary Americans to me.

You are welcome to hate on people shitting in the street and putting up tents on sidewalks, I'd be dead against that too. But even if some people are acting that way here (which I haven't seen any evidence of), I don't get why you are so vocal about trampling on the rights of the obvious vast majority who are moved to protest.

Optional - the protest ORGANIZERS on their website state "we want 20 thousand people there and we want everyone to set up tents and kitchens on Wall St for months to 'occupy it'. They are trying to copy the Arab spring....clearly right on the front of the web page of the people who made this happen...that is NOT a small segment of the protestors...it IS the protests mission.

this has been the standard for years....in a populated city such as NYC and even some small rural towns elsewhere the city leaderships voted it in long ago. This way plans can be made for traffic detours and the other planning that has to occur. It's not a dictatorship pal, it's called a civil society as a whole. And the permits are not being sought from the people they are protesting.
Just because rules and laws are in place does not equal a dictatorship. You need to get out more in the world if that's your measuring stick.

I know you need a permit!!

but the people that make up the laws can do anything they please cant they? yes lets make them ask us for permission to protest against the shit we are going to do to them! lets tell them its because of traffic and they will believe it, just like they believe we sent troops to the middle east to spread democracy

and really? they are not protesting against the people they are supposed to ask permission from? politicians/bankers/corporations are one and the same, and if they are not, one controls the other

It's called smart pal. Why else do you think the KKK and other hate groups are allowed to hold rallies in public areas? If you want to be able to protest and gather without being bothered, simply apply and pay the $20 fee and you have your ticket to yell and scream all you want, you also get police escorts and traffic routes blocked off for you to travel that you ask for etc. Otherwise the PD can simply say 'hey do you have a gathering permit? if not, see ya"

Also, some of the areas the people chose to sleep at is privately owned real estate.....so those people were given 24 hours or so out of the kindness of the owners but then when asked to leave and they refused....police moved them. I'd say that's pretty fair considering if I'm paying NYC rates, I don't want squatters on my land yelling obscenities at me because I am fortunate to own that land to begin with.

So they're ya go tool belt.

If you are a NY resident, then you vote the city council in that makes the local permit laws...it's not a national thing. You can't group a few city aldermen or school boards in with a conspiracy to keep any group quiet. And what exactly 'are they gonna do to them'?

Wall St is not the enemy pal. So what if they make a ton of money selling crazy engineered products whipped up by Quants...they aren't the ones listening in on your phone calls...tracking your vehicle....telling you what you can and cant eat, what you can and can't buy etc.

I'll make this elementary to you....the 'evil' wall st crowd are being targeted here by this '99%' group right? It's the banks that are the richest owners right? Nice media narrative to distract ya. Google the top 10 richest Americans....it's not the bankers pal! To name a few, George Soros and Warren Buffett - who do they run with these days??

Yeah you'd think. Was watching some of the ones on YouTube last night....2 cops standing there and asking for these guys to move out of the bushes....the protestors yell at them and then a supervisor walks over and tries to help....he tells one of the cops to go ahead and detain one of them, the guy pulls away so the cops tackle him...next thing you know the masses rush over and iphones are pointed all over the arrest. Today...the organizers' website had multiple incidents posted with pictures tagged 'white collar cops instruct the blue collared ones to assault our brothers'
