    How did the ump call the first pitch a ball

    could have looked low to the ump and if the catcher did not frame it (had to move his glove down for the ball) the ump could have went off of glove movement.

    those things are never 100% accurate... football ones are even worse

    because hes tall- look at his legs and knees and the bottom of the strikezone and you can see how that call can be made.

    BUT umps do have too much power in general. it really perverts baseball as a game.

    Seen much more of that then you think. I 'watch' to many games on game day's, happens at least a couple of games per week. If not more, I am only looking at a few games a day.

    I must of lost a few thousand dollars on bad umpire calls this year. They never ever go my way. I lost on 2 game ending calls at home plate in 1 week. One was in fenway, the Jays runner was clearly safe and he was ruled out. The other was in LA when the runner was clearly out at the plate and he was ruled safe to extend the game. Umps are terrible!

    Strike calls get tigher and tighther every year it seems like, maybe by mlb orders.
