    Geno's Takes for September 22 2011

    GENO'S TAKES
    like Geno’s Steaks only meatier

So the Chargers are having trouble selling Tickets and need to sell 4600 tickets to avoid the game being blacked out…

Here’s an idea… have the entire Chief practice squad buy tickets for themselves and their family because, given that this teams players are going down harder than Matt Cassell’s passer rating, they’re probably going to get to see five of them play this Sunday.

Marketing to the home team’s Charger fans is even easier, just tell them and I that it’s a lot more fun to watch the game live-so you don’t have to watch a replay 5 frigging times of your teams fumbles and interceptions or Norv Turners face that looks like he was just force fed a bucket of Lemons every time his team makes these miscues. Nope, fans, you don’t get that at The Stadium formerly known as “The Murph” (I refuse to call it Qualccomm). All you get there stadium is 85 and sunny all the time.

Ya know what, on second thought, why ruin a perfectly good day like that watching the Bolts underachieve.

So the Rams are bitching to the Commissioner Godell about the giants faking injuries on Monday night.

Roger Godell should meet with the Rams at their offices and have them google the phrases “Flopping Giants” and then “Flopping Rams” and see which one gets a ton more hits! Yes Deon Grant and linebacker Jacquian Williams went down on the Meadowlands turf faster than Eli Manning’s QB rating this week.

But so what!!! Their flopping had nothing to do with the how bad the Rams looked. Flopping made Grant and Williams and the Giants look bad but it didn’t make the Rams do any of the following

Kick THREE FG’s from INSIDE the 10!
    or
Have their Corner back stare a WR Domenik Hixon as he played hackey-sack with a pass that was so poorly under thrown that he shouldn’t have touched it once let alone SIX times! Hixon should play for the Mets because I’ve never seen any Met hit a ball that many times in one night!
    or
And it didn’t make Cadillac Williams stare at a ball so blatantly thrown behind him to 21 other players and 78,000 fans knew was a lateral. I guess that Cadillac can’t go in reverse!

No, the Rams flopped all by themselves and embarrassed themselves in their first MNF appearance in 5 years
The NFL has loopholes and just like that kicker bullshit a few years back where guys would call a timeout as the kicker was kicking; this stuff always has a way of haunting the team that does it. After about the fifth phantom time out called on a missed FG that allowed the team another chance and often a successful one at kicking the FG, it just kinda went away. This will too

Oh yeah and karma is its own reward because while some Giants were pretending to be hurt, so many others actually are—add to that HIXON who is out for the year with a torn ACL and Nixon aside from his incredible catch for a TD just wasn’t himself… and who knows when he will be again.

The Eagles are worried about whether to start Vince Young or Mike Kafka Michael Vick does not play against the Giants

I think the Eagles should worry more about sending a Thanks you card to the Eagles Front office because while the Eagles can’t miss with this choice. All three are NFL quality starters. Meanwhile, the city of Jacksonville just replaced Cade McCown with Blane Gabbert, Seattle is torn between Charlie Whitehurst and Tavaris Jackson, and Miami has to keep starting Chad Henne because his back up is Panther’s castaway Matt Moore! Think these three teams wouldn’t kill for any of the eagles trio right now?

QB is the least of the Eagles worries, of real concern is their WR Position especially Jeremy Maclin and his 13-reception performance that was forgotten after he dropped a pass that probably would’ve put the Birds in position to beat Atlanta this past Sunday night.

Instead of worried about changing QB’s, the Eagles oughta worry about changing Maclin’s number from 18 to 14… because they sure couldn’t get #14 to stick to it Sunday night.

    Geno’s Pick of the day
    PHILLIES -185 against the NATS
Since clinching the #1 spot in the NL playoffs, the Phillies have lost 5 in a row. But that’s because they didn’t care and Manual rewarded them with some well needed rest. If you looked closely enough you could have seen Charlie Manual may have been showing up with a postage stamp rather than a lineup card as the Phils were just mailing it in. In the final week the Phils will remind everyone why they are the odds on favorite to win it all.
Risk 185 on them to make an easy buck
