Going with a friend soon possibly. Have a flight+hotel package staying at Excalibur for 5 nights for like $500 a person (including taxes and resort fee) I'm looking at. Any advice on what to do though? Have looked at some of the crawls and they aren't priced that bad ($70-$80 a night) and great deals on year long passes ($200)

#11Advice, take a match to excalibur.
Other than that, avoid the clubs - hit the tables. The ass is cheaper if you pay for it up front anyway and is readily available at every main bar inside the casino. Sit down for a drink, and a trick will come over within minutes to do the rest. (hint: she's the one hitting on you).Comment -

#14I have bad blood with that place. Kicked me out when I turned 21. Kicked my brother out of the arcade. Kicked my dad out (no idea the story really). I advise everyone that will listen to burn that place.
But some real advice:
Since you are going with a group of guys, make up the story you are a bachelor party. Pick the groom before hand, as it makes it easier when your drunk to remember the story. Get shirts if you must (brings girls to you). Seriously, there is no easier sure fire way to pull bitches than be a bachelor party.
Every march madness, I go with a group, and every year - we are a bachelor party. Since I'm already married, I've been the groom the last 2 years.
More advice, be the groom - bitches love the groom.
If you go to Vegas with a group of dudes, and don't pull this move, you have missed a great chance.Comment -

#2023. My advice, stick near Planet Hollywood. Some of the nicest ass on the strip seems to flock to that place.
Blondies does a promo where you can drink as much as possible for $20. It includes its sister club which is primarily a hip-hop theme. Blondies is a sports bar with beer pong, etc. Also has the best wings on the strip, but I have no idea how much you care about that.
The $20 thing might be a weekday thing. Doubt its good on the weekends.
If you happen to be there on Weds, head down to Piranaha. Awsome little college club, located behind Thomas and Mack. Something like $10 all you can drink beer. Frat house or something is what the promo was called.Comment -

Think the club is on Paradise and Harmon-ish. You could seriously walk there if you are hurting for cash.
It is closer to the excalibur in terms of actual distance than the bellagio.Comment -

#25It's pretty close actually. UNLV is literally across the street from the airport. So it's about a $10 cab ride from excalibur, as both are basically on tropicana.

thats not bad at all, are the streets decent to walk at night? Going to a small college (WKU), I loved being able to walk back after nights out (15-20 minute walks)Comment -

However, the walk down Trop alongside the MGM, between Tropicana (hotel) and Hooters is probably one of the shittiest parts of the strip. I actually think one of the tunnels that connects to the entire underground indigent community living under las vegas is right around that area.
Usually encounter a few loud mouth tweekers everytime I am in that area. But, I am not of small stature and have welcomed confrontation with these shitstains in the past. They're simply high as fukk, and are running their mouths.
Just think of it as every other walk downtown after dark. It isn't a college town vibe, but it sure as shit isn't the South Side of Chicago either.
That said, I'd really just get a cab. It's not much.Comment -

#27You are a group of guys, 2-3 even. As long as you aren't a walking vagina, I wouldn't worry about it.

yeah I'll catch a cab. Just not used to it lol. Appreciate everything man. Anything else you wanna share? My idea was to eat a buffet around mid morning-lunch and then eat a good meal that night. Suggestions?Comment -

I hit up blondies for wings, everytime I'm there. Favorite buffet on the strip is the one at Caesars, if you want a buffet. However the one at harrah's is decent and a lot cheaper.
Food is all about what you want, time of day/night, and how much you want to spend.
Places like Fatburger and Earl of Sandwich are open 24/7 and wont cost an arm and a leg, both in your relative part of town.
Also, utilize the free transportation if you are down money or just cheap. That tram thing between Mandalay and Excalibur will help, as Mandalay is an awesome casino. Same goes for the tram between the Monte and Bellagio.
Cross 1 bridge, walk past NYNY, and you are basically all the way to flamingo without busting your feet and without spending a dime.
I've experienced vegas from about every monetary situation. From broke-dikk college kid looking for a good time on pennies, to rolling with tons of cash, to comped everything.
All depends. All is relative.Comment -

#31The Excalibur casino area isn't bad, but the rooms suck. You could have gotten a better hotel for the same price. ChalkyDog knows all about the Excalibur so go to him with any questions. With that being said, I used to go to Vegas for the MWC Basketball Tourney each March when I was at TCU, and I walked from the Thomas & Mack to the Strip back and forth every night. It's a long walk, but not full of tweakers and homeless, at least it wasn't when I had to make that walk. When I lived in Las Vegas my experience that all the homeless were on the intersection of Sahara Blvd across from the Sahara near the Stratosphere and Las Vegas Blvd. One crack addict lady was there every day at that intersection panhandling for money.Comment -

I haven't reserved it yet was just saying where I was likely to stay. What do you recommend? It was by far the best priced IMO. I looked at the LVH and MGM Grand as well, but the MGM grand was a little higher than what I wanted.Comment
