I just don't understand how you guys are defining value on this one.

Even at +200, you'd have to win it 1/3 times just to break even. At 22-5, Verlander hasn't lost at near that ratio, and the line isn't +200.

can't use that logic to make lines.......if a guy is 1-10, are you gonna make a +900 line? Of course not.

Yeah that's true. But we're not making the lines, we're betting them lol

I guess I don't understand how people see value in lines then. Here, at -180, I personally see value in Detroit.

tigers are the hottest team in baseball

still dont understand how many continue to bet against the best pitcher in baseball, including the hottest lineup at the moment. No value there. Verlander is going for win 23 and already has the Cy YOung locked up.

Verlander is 4-1 against the sox his last 5 starts
Verlander is 22-5 on the season
The Tigers are 9-3 their last 12 games at Chicago
The Tigers have won 6 of 8 against the Sox Overall
The Tigers have been one of the best teams in the league since the all star break

please I want to know how the sox have better than a 1 out of 3 chance of winning this game. Personally I don't even think they have a 1 in 4 chance of winning this with how hot the tiger bats are

all the money is on the tigers to win, that must mean the white sox are a lock

I think that ChiSox will not try to salvage this game and just let their starter get raped so their bullpen can get a fresh start in their next series

This is a big inning for Floyd. Middle of the line up and Verlander pitch count is getting up there. If Sox can hold on, and stay close Verlander wont make it to the 7th.

I know everyone was Verlander this and Verlander that. If people havent noticed the Tigers are starting to pull in his innings and not leaving him as long in the game. They have to start saving his innings for the post season. I was betting on Cy Young to leave the game after 5 maybe 6. Then the Sox have their chance. Tigers are awesome at the plate, no denying, but the sox can hit if they get past Verlander and into the pen. That was my reasoning on the bet. I still like the chances.

Verlander has many games where he pitched up to 120+. I doubt thu would stress him odah though since we have like a million game lead in the division

    Thanks Paco.

I have my reasoning on my plays. I try to pick my spots on big dogs like this. I know the line should have been closer to -200 in this game. The oddsmen also know Tigers will pull Verlander early in this game because there is no reason to leave him past 6. If the game is tied or 1 run down when Verlander goes, the line instadrops from +170ish to +120 to almost EVEN depending on the score.

I just don't understand why anybody would bet against the hottest team in the league with the best pitcher in the league facing a team they have dominated recently

if you want to bet on an underdog, why not bet against the yankees tonight who have been playing very average ball with that scrub burnett starting??

    What can you do???

3 out of 4 innings the ChiSox have had 2 or more men on base and have not scored.

Still hanging tough, but there might be a bit of a drop in play after bases loaded and no runs against Verlander.

Come on Sox, don't give up any runs this inning!

Ozzie intentionally walks Cabrera, knowing full well what V-Mart does in that exact situation.

This dysfunctional team gets what it deserves. Shitty GM, shitty manager and players with no heart.

Teams are finally realizing they cant pitch around Cabrera anymore with Vmart right behind him. This team is stacked. Just have to get rid of Magglio.
