Yes you can. The Cardinals won 84 games in 2006 and then won the World Series.
Unlike football where the best team usually wins the super bowl, baseball is different.
The team that streaks in October wins it all, and honestly, the Giants were probably the 5th best team last year. But they won, so no reason to trash them.
They are awful this year though. The NL West is the worst division in baseball.
