I don't use worst pitcher in baseball lightly. The guy had a 5+ ERA in AA...

Who is worse? A 6 ERA i nthe majors or a 5+ in AA? This guy is garbage. Brewers just didn't bring their game today.

Well either you or the jabroni called yesterdays pitcher the worst in baseball as well, cant remember which. And clearly the Pirates brought him up for a reason.

You guys thinking youre smarter than professional basbeall managers based on one statistic =

And the pathetic Brewers are shut down another inning by the 5+ ERA double A scrub.

Going to be hilarious watching this pathetic team flail against playoff pitching and playoff atmosphere.

Yep, they did call him up for a reason. They had no one else. The guy was lit up by double A players.

If you're telling me, that a major league offense should be shut down by a guy who was absolutely destroyed by double A players for 4 months... then yeah, go ahead and tell me that.

Minor League w/l stats and ERA are not a great indicator of future performance.

FIP or xFIP are a better choice.

In this case his 2.17 (AAA) FIP, (3.7) AA FIP, and solid hr/9 numbers shows he wasn't a huge scrub like his ERA represents.

I've also witnessed a few soft throwing lefties cool off a hot hitting team.

hardball, this is just like game 2 on Monday. Brewers just don't care.

I figured they'd want this win b/c they need home field to have any shot to beat the Phils in the playoffs, but it looks like Prince Fielder and his little puppet would rather talk about how amazing their team is and then split a 4 game series to the coldest team in baseball.

Should be? No. Can be? Yes. It happens a lot. People that have been in the game for a while know these things, thats why they dont lose their mind when they see Brewers -175 against a guy that it appears they should beat easily.

The little monkeys for Milwaukee were too busy grabbing the microphone and talking about how amazing they were.

They just split a series with the worst team right now in baseball when the Pirates threw out pitchers like Thompson and Ohlendorf.

ugh, I'm turning this one off. I haven't seen a worse effort this year since I saw the Padres put an 8 spot in the first inning on the Marlins a few weeks back.

The Pirates bullpen is still going to have to close it out... can they last 4+ innings? I'd be surprised if the Brewers don't put up at least 4 runs

Why? Any clown they pull in from their bullpen is better than Aaron Thompson.

Don't blame the Brewers, blame yourself for taking the bait and betting the biggest square bet of the day. Ever hear the saying.. If it looks to good to be true, it probably is??

And besides... they might score 4, but Marcum is about to be knocked into next year by a really bad lineup.

Brewers have too much to play for to just flat out take a game off. But they did... they are a bunch of mental midgets obviously.

But we did learn something today about them. They are mental midgets and it will be fun pounding the Phils if they meet in the playoffs. No way in hell Brewers beat the Phils.

I don't think you are understanding how bad the Pirates have been recently.

In this 4 game series, if they don't come back, the Brewers will split even though the Pirates are starting pretty much their worst 4 starting pitchers they could have started.

A few weeks back, the Cubs swept a 4 game set with the Pirates, with the Pirates best 4 pitchers.

Just something to consider. This would be a disappointing series for the Brewers b/c they are trying to catch the Phils.
