    Won around £3000 on the rain-shortened Daytona 500 in 2009 - backed Kenseth and he happened to be leading when the rain came down - was quite lucky with that as he was looking like he was about to get overtaken had the race gone on another couple of laps !

    Longest odds I ever won was Stuart Cink @ 125/1 to win the Open Championship that same year, only had a £5 each way but sure was nervy watching the playoff vs Tom Watson...

    $8,000 parlay in college hoops and than offset the last game (duke-vt) and won that game for $ 2,000...
    Biggest loss - $1,500 on USC in BCS game versus Texas.
    Won 1,300 in Derby last year (2010) but had I done the superfecta (I had boxed 4 horses) I would have won $103,000.

    I hit a big 8 team parlay a few weeks back that cashed in a little over $5K for me. Not a bad return on a $35 bet. Haven't hit anything close to that since.

    The biggest straight wager I won was a couple years ago during the NHL playoffs. Won $500 betting on #8 Montreal to beat #1 Washington in Game 7, great game to watch on so many levels I matched that win a few months ago in tennis backing underdog Dominika Cibulkova against Vera Zvonareva, of course it was with a shit book that never paid up though

    a few years ago i bet $30 with SIA that an NFL player would rush for more than 250 yards in one game.
    Adrian Peterson nailed it. Paid out $525 (which I successfully withdrew...).
    Beforehand I had told a few people about the bet and they all laughed it off.
    I got about a dozen congratulatory texts when he crossed 250. really nice day.
