Powderguy, Wrigley, BettingGeek, Bob Loblaw: I refunded your money. (Oswalt did not start) I also threw in 10 extra points to each of you, for giving me the action. Hope to do business with y'all again in the future.

I know this is probably a technicality, but Roy Oswalt actually did start. I know he did not pitch, but he was on the opening lineup card that was turned in and it was only after the 2 hour rain delay that Kendrick was put in for Oswalt. You can check the box scores and find Oswalt as the first pitcher. I know Oswalt did not pitch, but according to the books he did start the game.

Gimme a break.. Roy Oswalt did not throw 1 pitch. He did not start the game, Kendrick did. I give two shits what a lineup card said. The pitcher who throws the first pitch of the game is the starting pitcher. Oswalt never left the dugout. Nice try, though.

Technically even though he was in the lineup he did not pitch, so per MLB scoring rules it's not counted as a "start" in reference to his pitching stats. It is his pitching stats that are referenced for "pitcher must start" determination, not whether or not he was entered in the official starting lineup. All wagers were correctly refunded.

Agreed. But according to sportsbooks he did start. If you had a wager on this game and took the listed pitchers optioin instead of just action; you would be paid as if Oswalt pitched. He is still on the lineup turned in and boxscore. All I was saying that in betting terms, he did start.

Check MLB.com gamecast. It has him listed as the first pitcher. Books will count it as an Oswalt start b/c the lineup card was turned in with him.

If you bet big on the Nats $$$$, you lost it with whatever book it was.

I know he did not trow a pitch. However he was on the lineup card turned in. Check the boxscore. It was after the rain delay that he was taken out of the game and Kyle Kendrick put in. My only point is that according to any book, Oswalt started.

Jason Stark was saying this will be the first time one pitcher "started" 2 games in a row in a very long time.
