    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleurisy

Pleurisy (also known as pleuritis) is an inflammation of the pleura,[1] the lining of the pleural cavity surrounding the lungs. Among other things, infections are the most common cause of pleurisy.
The inflamed pleural layers rub against each other every time the lungs expand to breathe in air. This can cause severe sharp pain with inhalation (also called pleuritic chest pain).

My free of charge diagnosis. Have it checked out.

    not likely pleurisy

could just be your lungs starting to breakdown all the junk coating them

it takes a while to get your body free of cigs

    GL with the doc

(if my personal nurse has any suggestions I'll get back to you......but she'll most likely say to go get looked at)

I remember when I quit smoking earlier this February, it's normal, the first thing your body does when you quit smoking is repair its lungs. It's absolutely normal.

Gratz on quitting and keep it that way!

My grandfather had the same thing. My dad told him to see a doctor. He didn't and died of a heart attack the next day. I would see a doctor.

if u were coughing a lot,

i had something after the flu, lots of coughing, felt like what ur saying,

it was inflammation of something near my ribs.

there was nothing to do to "fix" it goes away once the inflammation goes away.

good luck dude. i suppose you could go to the dr but they are a waste in my opinion.

Don't you have to see your physician to get a referral for a specialist? You can't pick up the phone book and just grab the specialist you think is going to cure your ailment.

Thats a tough one, it could be a number of things, just go a see a primary care doctor and he will refer you to the proper doctor.

I think carseller hit the most likely scenario with pleuritis. Especially being a recent smoker.
