You know what time it is! I started a thread last year combining all lock-fades from various sports, NFL, CFB, NCAABB, Soccer, NHL, MLB, and NBA. The thread did only fair in my opinion, fading every lock thread in sight, closing at +3.98 units. This year we are going to do it a little differently. I will keep the NFL lock-fades posted here for the duration of the NFL season to track the amount of money one would make fading SBR posters "lock threads". This thread is for tracking purposes only, I am not wagering money on these plays. I am doing it solely for the purpose of tracking a winning % fading locks, and for the purpose of brutally humiliating posters whose lock threads go south.
Keep in mind even though some of us like to embarrass lock-thread losers to the brink of self-destruction, we also have to remember that we do not want to discourage them from posting more locks to fade.
What qualifies as being a "lock thread?"
The word lock will have to be in the thread title for a fade to be made. I will also included threads that are advertised to be a "sure victory" (free money, no way this loses, you are stupid if you do not bet this, etc) as long as the thread has at least three dancing locks inside the OP.
How do we fade locks?
After the lock thread is has been posted we will fade using these techniques. The poster's name and link to thread posted here along with the official "lock-fade" play. I will ultimately determine the official lock fade for the reason being that posters such as henryhill and crustyme like to post lock plays for chalky favorites of -200 or more. In the event of this happening, we would fade the dog+points or we would make a moneyline play on the dog if I liked the fade enough to do so. We will fade totals, sides, ML, 1H, 2H, and quarter plays. We will pretty much fade the smooth shit out of anything that is not a prop bet. These plays can be found anywhere on the forum, including nfl handicapping, players talk, service plays, posted in wrong forum, I don't give a damn we are fading it hard.
I will be keeping a record of total $ won/lost , posting YTD, and the record of lock thread starters.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here.
Now let's go find those locks to fade!!
