Philip Rivers the most underrated player in the NFL

Not his fault keading missed three chippies.

and norv cant handle the pressure. He is 0% responsible for all the failures of the chargers in the norv era.

guy is top 3 qb in the league. tough as nails

while LT was sulking on the sidelines phil was playing with a broken arm.

He's certainly top 5. Brady, Manning, and Rodgers are definitely better tho.

I've always disliked the Chargers (Pats fan) but I'm a fan of Rivers. Hes very intense and has a hell of an arm

How can you dislike SD? They are the only team you guys can beat in the playoffs anymore.

hes still under-rated? i thought they talked too much about him last year. san diego quietly had a top defense which allowed him so much opportunity to put up great numbers. hes alright, definitely loves the game.

He isn't underrated. He gets in where he fits in.....with the rest of the guys without a ring. He is behind Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Manning. Plus he is a whiny little douchebag.

Objectively, rivers is a top 5 qb, no problem. More talented and a better producer at the position than guys like rothlesburger, ryan, not buying vick just yet, and the rest... and I think this is the year he overtakes Brees, and Manning to make him the 3rd best in the league both in numbers and team success.

Very good qb, but at some point he needs to overcome the Norv factor and get to the SB. Will give him tons of credit for sucking it up and playing Indy and Pats in playoffs on a busted knee while LT sat like a bitch on sidelines in Foxboro.

Rivers is in my top 3 of back door cover guys after his special teams gives up an untouched touchdown dance. All that matters is if he can cover your number, the rest means nothing.

He's the best NFL QB without a ring. He key games they've lost in his career weren't really his fault either.

hate rivers cause of his sideline antics but he deserved the mvp last season (4710 yds 30td 13int 101.8 qb rating) with no one to throw to.

Hes a great QB, but he has not lead his team deep into the playoffs yet where it matters most. Most under-rated? I don't know about that, I think mostly everyone agrees he is a premiere Q.B

gates played hurt all season. vincent jackson held out almost the entire season.

    his leading wrs were:

    malcolm floyd 37 rec
    patrick crayton 28 rec
    legedu naanee 23 rec

when your rb has the most catches, you know your receiving corp sucks.

As a Raider fan I always hated Rivers performance but I hate him because I know the fact that he is a very good QB. I wish we had him in our team. As for him not winning a ring, QB plays a huge role in a team winning but then there are other elements that contributes to it as well. Coaching, Defense, Special teams they all need to perform as a unit to make a team a winning team.

yeah, chargers special teams was atrocious last season. reason for them missing the playoffs.

they gave up 4 tds and 4 blocked punts.

Rivers is widely regarded as a top 5 QB, has made 3 Pro Bowls, and is making 92 million over 6 years.

In 2009-2010, Rivers was the highest paid player in the NFL.

I like Rivers, but to say hes underrated is a joke.
Rodgers, Manning, and Brady definitely better than him.

I dont put any blame on Rivers, but he will probably never win a ring, and hes been part of some of the most underachieving teams in history.

Rivers is top 3 QB material as far as overall statistics go. However to be a true top rated QB in this league, you have to succeed in the post season. That being the case, Brady, Manning, Rogers, Brees, and even Roethlisburger are all still well ahead of Rivers.

I'm so tired of the "chokes in the playoffs" crap and I don't even like Rivers. Dan Marino never got a ring so according to that dumba$$ logic Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson were better? Sometimes it applies but not everytime. Rivers can't do much about LT becoming old towards the end....Turner being a bad coach or the special teams? San Diego had the #1 seed in 2006 and they lost because a guy picked off Brady late with SD leading....and instead of just falling down he got the ball stripped away. I'm glad my Colts won it that year but Rivers kills Indy and Rivers/Grossman in the SB = Chargers 1st ring

A QB controls maybe 40% tops of what happens to a franchise! The Colts best team was probably 2005 but the kicker missed against Pittsburgh. Brady had a All-Pro kicker (Venateri) and won 3 SBs by a field goal each. ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THAT WAS UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE QB
