Totally agree, this is ridiculous unless a team has a kicker that can hit big pop-ups there won't be any kick-off returns this year.

Yea I mean what idiot is gonna try to return it from the middle of the end zone when the defense is already at the 30 and running full speed by the time he fields the ball, I mean this is just fuckin retarded

    I agree fellas
I understand they did it to cut down on injuries but like another poster suggested just start the ball on the 20 and do away with the kickoff altogether

I'm okay with it. There will still be returns... My biggest issue is with this 'review every TD' nonsense. It slows the game down so much

They would never do away with kickoffs as it is a significant part of the game

If the goal is to cut back on injuries then why have a kick off at all? Just start the drive from 20 once the other team scores.

Come on Pavy it's like telling the NBA they can't have a tip off. You can't take away fundamentals of the game. I think they tried to do 2 much personally. They should've limited the running start like they did but kept the kick off the same. They will fix this next year.

They did this before somebody gets killed on a return...

    They know steroids are rampant...

If someone gets killed, steroids will be taken out of the game and the business will suffer...

They are a step ahead, unlike baseball...

Still an offensive league you can't sneeze on a WR without it being a 60 yard flag.

You're clueless, Im watching this shit on ESPN and with 3 kickoffs Seattle has not even bluffed like they were gonna return, I mean **** a long return is always possible but how many teams are gonna risk it? Not only is the ball being fielded 5 yards deeper but the coverage is starting off 5 yards closer, that's a fuckin 10 yard longer run you have to make, in other words returning it to the 20 is the equivalent almost of returning it to the 30 before this retarded rule

Get prepared for almost nothing but touchbacks, fuckin NFL gets "safer" (shittier) every year, might as well just play flag football if they're so fuckin worried about anyone ever gettin hurt

You are right.....I don't know why teams aren't blazing out kickoff returns and applying kickoff strategies in the 1st preseason game of the year. Go watch ArenaBall then you bunch of whiners.

They moved it to the 35 for a reason just like they started wearing helmets for a reason. It's not like you whiners are gonna stop watching the NFL because of it.

That's what I thought, that they moved it back to the 30 "to get" more returns.

Well you can look at it this way. If you get a lot more possessions starting from the 20, you get more fantasy points because there are more yards to gain. More receptions to get, if your in a PPR league, that is a plus.

They moved it from the 35 to the 30 before for a reason. If enough teams complain it can be changed.

this will effect making a comeback late at the end of games with little time left. This definitely changes betting strategies quite a bit. Totals will need to be adjusted by the books or the unders will be the wise plays for a lot of match ups.
