Make sure you actually bought the house and aren't just renting it.

When I bought in 2009, I got the $8000 when I filed my 2009 taxes.

I hope you get your money.

I bought last May, amended my taxes and recieved 8,000 about 5 months after I bought. I will say this, I was supposed to get the check and then about 3 more weeks passed, before I actually recieved it. I wouldnt worry about the delay...I think it's normal. The government will "release" the check and then you will recieve it a 3-4 weeks later.

I was supposed to have it in mid June and there are message boards where people are complaining that they havent received it for a year or longer. I'm worried.

Isn't there a number you can call, or a website you can check on the status of your rebate check?

Did you not declare it when you did taxes for the 2010 year? It expired last April.

The house had to be under contract by last April.

    Hopefully this isn't the problem.
