I agree, I'm square dancing with the Red Sox tonight.

thirdly you are crazy if you believe that 2/3 of the bets on this game are gonna be on the Sox. Yanks +150ish and you dont think there arnt ppl lining up for that as well?
Although I agree with this to a small degree, the "us" in this forum is but a small fraction of the total amount of wagers placed. I was simply stating what was listed on 'sportsbook spy' at that moment. Nothing more, nothing less. Where it ends up, I have no clue, nor do I really care as it is one of the last games on the board I would play. Best of luck with your plays tonight

he could still be right. one game is a small sample size.

squares are the ones that think since this game went a certain way that means it was the best value bet. similar to blackjack, when the dealer has a 10 showing and you have 16. mathematically, you should hit or surrender even though you may lose that hand over the course of 1000 hands it is the right play. this is one of the reasons most of you are losing betters.

It doesn't work like that......Every game is much more complex than a straight mathematical choice like in blackjack.....Each game is a one time event where every single factor that makes up that particular game happens 1 time only. In this particular instance, Yankees were coming in on a big hot streak and confident as can be......In this rivalry game I really thought +140 was extremely good value here. You can't say a particular pick is "square" or "sharp"......Upsets and bad beats happen, but almost always, the correct pick is the one that cashes

no every game is a mathematical choice. no matter what factors you consider it is still a zero sum game.

making bets on hot streaks or looking at the last 7 games is a losing way of doing it.

and if you are a betting market efficiency believer then the so called 'right' bet is the one that your bet moves away from. for example, if you take a game at -120 and it goes off at -125, you made the 'correct' bet.

Yeah it is mathematical but it's not something simple like what to do in a blackjack hand......way more complex than that where certain factors matter more than others

It's basically impossible to actually KNOW what the real/ true odds are of a game.....Best you can do is weigh all the factors of a game with information you are given and make your choice

Momentum and hot streaks are part of that equation.....teams and players are not robots
