not really either brewers or Cards are more than capable of upsetting either one of these teams...not saying that phils/sf are not obviously the favs but once in the playoffs the hot team wins just as much as the team that played the best ball throughout the season.

I might be the only person who doesn't love Pence. It's good they have a right handed bat and a better fielder, Dom Brown is like Dimitri Patterson out there but I don't know if he's gonna be clutch in October

It's an okay trade, but this will mess with brown's at bats and he may even go back to the minors, that or they bench raul.

this year is a lot like last year. phillies, giants, rangers all going to the playoffs. astros, mariners, royals sucking ass. yankees probably not quite good enough. mets losing the wild card race to the braves like usual.

only once in the last 15 years has the team with the best record won the world series. at least that is what they said on the baseball today podcast.

Brown will probably go back to AAA. He has some work to do with that swing and his defense. He'll be back up Sept. 1

    Err Boston?

    In the last 10 years

Pats have won 3, Bruins won one, Red Sox won two, Celtics won one.

Phillies won one, Flyers nothing, 76ers nothing, Eagles nothing.

Hell Pittsburgh is ahead of Philly with the Steelers and Pens.

there is one thing philly can lay claim to as #1 for 2011..philly has the worst fans of any city according to GQ

    http://www.gq.com/sports/lists/20110...merica#slide=1

(well minus those total dbags in LA that beat that dad to near death cause he was a giants fan at dodger stadium)

no homerism involved, i see Boston up there at #6 coming in before yankees even which i don't particularly care for, but i know there are some douchey boston fans too..the bandwagoners get me to no end and the friggin pink hats..i'll be glad when dice-k is gone too so we can lose some of the involved crap from him at the park too..sushi has no place in a baseball stadium, and i love sushi, but not at the ballpark.

70%? the only player they really bought was Lee... and they didnt really even buy him, he chose to go there for less money... rollins howard utley victorino hamels ect.... all home grown... most of the others were through trades.. like nobodyukno said, AMARO IS A BOSS

i don't really feel like philly gave up anything..i feel like houston got the shaft in that deal..cosart has a bad injury history, and no one knows with singleton, it's not like he plays a position where it's hard to acquire an elite player. in the end they're both single A guys and you never know what's going to happen, earliest projection to the majors is at the very least 2 and probably 3 or 4 years away. that's a tough call, they're prospects for a reason, houston should have held out for brown +1 of those two prospects, it would've happened the more anxious philly got by the deadline tomorrow

depends what atlanta does tomorrow..they're still tough

cleveland just made themselves a bigger player in the AL though with getting ubaldo. overall i think they're going to be too young still this year, depends how choo comes back for them among other things. i don't know why white sox seem to so eager to deal out quentin and thornton et al, they're right in it too, central is a crap division.
