House is supposed to have a 2% edge in blackjack or so. I'd be willing to bet the edge is MUCH higher. What are the odds offered by the online casinos sbr offers in blackjack... and If you don't know what odds the software is offering than you shouldn't offer the casino games.

    This was a great promo.

It's too bad I couldn't play it much, because I was broke for a while and had to wait for people to send me points.

Just wanna give an update. I lost every point on SBR blackjack. What goes up must come down right? I lost 3200 points today making maximum bets and then when that lost I got real desperate.

How is it a great offer if the true odds of winning a hand in the online casino guranteed is not true odds like live blackjack? If it was true odds (roughly 48%) sbr would be a huge favorite to lose 100,000 points to people with brains.

You would be shocked at the play of some of the folks who said the casino was rigged. Lotsss of errors in the double down area and surrenders.

Not saying the casino is rigged, but doubling off 11 (always correct) is primarily what cost me during the promo. I'd get some low card most the time and the dealer would pull out 5 cards for 18 or something. I must have won somewhere around 25% of my doubled 11s when the expectation is always >50% (or you wouldn't be doubling!)

    ...

Of course it was just really bad luck, and not a rigged casino, that made me run 3k below expectations. (A made a few minor errors here and there, but I played pretty darn close to perfect basic strategy.) It truly baffles my mind that people think a -EV game is rigged because they lose. Then again, some clown today claimed poker was rigged because he lost J10s to QQ (most chips went in preflop and J10 was behind on all streets). "My hand would have won in a real game" he said, then proceeded to argue for 15 minutes about how he'd made the correct play and it was just the software that made him lose.

Yea I saw a guy say "you wouldnt make that call with real money"....uh, huh?

When I was half my current age I pulled in to one of those ugly ships docked near new orleans and lost 30 straight hands of blackjack at $5 a hand. I swore for a qtr century it had to be rigged. Now I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Its human nature.

I don't know. I swear though I was on fire those couple of days and now I can't win a damn thing. Every hand I lose. Not just in SBR blackjack but in real money blackjack. But generally I hate hitting on 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.

Never bust: For my analysis of this strategy I assumed the player would never hit a hard 12 or more. All other decisions were according to correct basic strategy. This "never bust" strategy results in a house edge of 3.91%.

Then you are giving the house $$ by increasing the house edge by not playing perfect strategy. Every error increases the house edge which increases your chance of losing and claiming it's rigged.

I rarely played first time since I played on my phone and it was the hardest thing ever. I often stay on 9s and below when not payin attention and misclicking, kills me everytime. I'm not sure of perfect strategy exactly, but I double 9-11's when dealers showing 4-6. And I won't double on 11 when dealer is showing 10. I'll also split almost anything other then 20 when dealers showin 4-6. My motto is get as much money on the table when dealer should bust.

Doubling off 11 is correct even when dealer has 10 or A. Doubling off 10 is optimal if dealer has 9 or lower; doubling off 9 is correct if dealer has 2-6. Additionally, doubling of 8 is correct if dealer has 5 or 6.

You are almost correct to split anything if dealer has 4-6. You should never split 10-10 (stand, as noted) or 5-5 (double down instead). 4-4 vs. 5 or 6 should only be split if double after split is allowed (it is on SBR), otherwise doubling is better.

thad just thought i'd add that while most ppl may disagree with me, splitting 2's and 3's against a 7 or 8 is actually mathematically beneficial to the player. also you are supposed to hit a soft 18 against a 10. but like i said many ppl will disagree with these plays. the "revised" book does incorporate these though so they are proper.

When I posted that calculation, I put the edge at 6% because I know I made a couple of mistakes. I know one time I had a very obvious hit and misclicked "stand". When I practice on a website like hitorsplit I can pretty easily go 500 decisions (not hands) without making a mistake. But when I was playing the pts blackjack I was doing other things and playing as fast as I could, so might have made a few mistakes. But losing 2,275 on that promo, flat betting 75 in about 100 hands (even with a few minor mistakes thrown in) is like 0.1% or something.

I know there are rigged online casinos. I have been cheated by such software in the past, while casino bonus whoring (different SW maker than DGS). I am not saying your casino is definitely rigged. Like I said, that would require a lot more data. And if you have the promo again, I am sure I would play. I am of the opinion that the casino could be rigged without you knowing it (you guys didn't set it up), and that it certainly does feel rigged. Many people, who have worked in the industry, have told me that the casino SW usually comes with a way for the website operator to set the house advantage (cheat players in other words).
