#2...Nerd trying to prove you know more than the guy's that played sports in High School??

#3..Out of work and tell people this is what you do??

#4..Trying to look cool at Thanksgiving telling Uncle Ricky that you have 55/50 on Cowboys?

I know most of you never picked up a ball in your life.. Gambling on sports made me feel the feeling I had when I played sports.. Bad thing number 2 are the only ones cashing in..

I played sports and I will tell you being an athlete/thinking you know how a sport is played does not necessarily translate in to a winning sports gambler. In fact I don't think you need any knowledge of sports to win gambling on sports.

Yes that and I'm one of the the most competitive guys you would ever meet and I love challenges and that is what sports betting gives to me. Nothing will ever give me the satisfaction that competiting in a state championship game gave me in high school but gambling comes close. I also love watching sports so it's even better when there's money on it.

I don't get the same feeling as I did playing Basketball and hitting the game winning shot, or totally shutting down the other guy with my terrific defense. Or biking was anther one, esp. mountain biking off road, going down steep hills, jumps, escaping with your life.
But that all ended 9-1-05, when I had my 28 hour surgery that basically ****** up my whole lower body.

The feeling I get is more of a high like feeling, like you would get from snorting coke.

But I get what you mean, I entially loved watching sports when I had cancer. I could watch baseball 24/7, and I loved playing fantasy baseball so I turned into a stat geek , basically if I read it once I can memorize it.

I sort of gambled with my friends in high school, and I would win most of the time, but people never paid. So that quickly stopped.

Most people pay other touts for picks, I don't think playing sports and betting go hand in hand AT ALL.

I was a decent athlete and it was love of sport that eventually got me gambling on it. I agree that you do not need to know anything about sport to win at gambling. I have only played baseball and handful of times, but it is prob my best American gambling sport.

I got into betting on sport, because it is part of our culture here. Australian bookmakers are extremely well off. I do not understand why Aussies generally aren't willing to learn about the maths behind gambling.

I played Football in HS. Name was in the Post every weekend. Had offers for a few school in the East Coast. RIght before I graduated I somehow came about having a ruptured disk in my lower back. I was never hurt playing ball this shit happened on some random shit. My team went 1-9 my senior year and I still had offers. Back still ****** up to this day but Im tryna get into Soccer. Shit sucks I could be making money under the table in college instead of betting on them.

Played sports all my life through college......still play now flag football, softball, pickup bball games

anyway.....I love watching sports and was always into that even when I was little growing up, I also have always loved to gamble on everything so naturally sports betting makes a lot of sense for me

The feeling of playing sports is not really the same as betting sports.....When you play you have much more control over situations and the feeling of winning or doing well is a lot different.......Winning a big bet is like a rush after being on edge for the game while winning when you play is more of a satisfied or proud feeling

I love the feeling of a new day and doing the research early on.....It's really just a fun hobby that I enjoy, while the watching part just adds to something I'd probably be doing anyway

you dont have to play the game to love sports. And the good capprers here just pay more attention to the game being played. More than the local homer betting his team. Just because you played the game, dosent mean you can cap it.

Still play sports, well only soccer competitve. I don't even know how I started gambling to be honest think it started with epl proline tickets cuz every saturday I would sit down and watch as many games as possible so throwing 5 bucks on them made it a bit more entertaining

I just love competition, hate losing in sports, games or gambling. Though I'm still a lazy fck in real life, just love those quick highs of competing. Me vs. the book or Me vs. other players in poker/sports, not much better to me than a battle and winning it. Unfortunately the books take some of the fun out of that pretty quick if you're not a math geek.

You got me wanting to gamble just posting that shit, that's why JJ was great for SBR. He rallies the troops with the degenerate gene to keep going and keep chasing. I bought some shitty poker game for xbox earlier because I'm so bored and just want some action even though it's not even close. Can go to the casino but going there for the ESHC in a couple weeks so can't donk away all my money right now. I think to answer your question, incorrectly probably, people who don't play sports can still have that thing inside them that wants to make money easily, compete, get that rush...etc.

Personally I pretty much lacked the skill to go much further then the level of teeball and pick up neighborhood football games but was a huge sports fan from an early age...

Seems like a more natural progression to becoming a gambler then having real talent in sports and I was filling out 2 dollar parlay cards in 7th-8th grade and I remember checking out most of the handful of books on gambling at the local library (all were crap BTW) by a similar early age...

I've played sports all my life. The rush you get from winning a championship is completely different than the rush you get in the 4th quarter down by 3, with money on the board. nuff said.
